Sunday night’s Oscars broadcast was the biggest bust in the award show’s history clocking in at less than 10 million viewers for the first time ever.
The show that is supposed to be Hollywood’s biggest night only averaged 9.85 million viewers on ABC, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Last year the Oscars telecast averaged 23.64 million viewers, the Reporter noted. That means the awards dropped more than 58% in TV viewership.
These are the worst numbers ever!
Breitbart News pointed out how badly the show has fallen in the ratings: “For comparison, just three years ago, total viewership dropped below 30 million for the first time in the ceremony’s recorded history.”
Many fans were upset that the Oscars forgot to mention Jessica Walters and Naya Rivera during the In-Memoriam segment.

So they made sure to slot in DMX as part of the In Memoriam but couldn’t find room for Naya Rivera? #Oscars

Meanwhile, Todd Starnes slammed the super-rich Hollywood actors who got the Distinctive Assets’ “Everyone Wins” freebie bags given to 25 of the people nominated.
Finally, one of the somewhat brighter spots of the dismal, woke evening was Tyler Perry’s acceptance speech in which he refused to attack the police.
“I refuse to hate someone because they are a police officer. I would hope we would refuse hate,” Perry said at one point in his address.
