4D CHESS: Trump Considers Trouncing J6 Committee with 'Announcement'
The modern political calculus of the United States is growing more complicated by the minute, particularly as we find ourselves in the throes of a nefarious new Democratic strategy.
I’m speaking of course about the left’s willingness to exploit the power of the federal government to investigate their political enemies, and then airing whatever dirty laundry they allegedly discover, all conveniently-timed in order to maximize the impact on any upcoming elections.
“RussiaGate” was a prime example of this, of course, with aspects of the J6 committee’s hearings accomplishing much of the same.
In that latter example, the left is attempting to imbue Donald Trump with enough baggage to keep him off of the Republican ticket in 2024.
And that’s why Trump may be considering taking all the wind right out of their sails.
Republicans are bracing for Donald J. Trump to announce an unusually early bid for the White House, a move designed in part to shield the former president from a stream of damaging revelations emerging from investigations into his attempts to cling to power after losing the 2020 election.
While many Republicans would welcome Mr. Trump’s entry into the race, his move would also exacerbate persistent divisions over whether the former president is the party’s best hope to win back the White House. The party is also divided over whether his candidacy would be an unnecessary distraction from midterm elections […]
Any such announcement would also freeze other candidates in their tracks, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who this week appeared to be very much on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s mind after a new political advertisement seemed to pit the two against one another, signaling someone’s belief that this could very well be a potential 2024 match up.
