AOC Gives Sketchy Answer to Biden '24 Question
It should come as no surprise that the Democratic Party is looking to distance itself from Joe Biden, as the highly unpopular President continues to flounder in the polls after 18+ months in office.
Biden, who didn’t show a great deal of enthusiasm about running for office in 2020 has been almost completely inept now that he’s in the West Wing, especially as a number of crises here in the United States continue to spiral out of control.
This has liberals rightfully concerned about his stated plans to run again in 2024, with even the outspoken Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez acting a bit dodgy when asked about it.
In an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez was asked about her feelings about the president seeking a second term, and she responded very delicately.
“I just want to ask about President Biden. He is saying he’s going to run again in 2024. Will you support him?” CNN host Dana Bash asked.
AOC, who is known for her direct and succinct personality, was suddenly terribly shy.
“You know, if the president chooses to run again in 2024, I mean, first of all, I’m focused on winning this majority right now and preserving a majority this year in 2022,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “So, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it … I think if the president has a vision and that’s something certainly we’re all willing to entertain and examine when the time comes.”
The non-committal quip comes just days after Democratic strategists appeared to suggest that Biden’s performance would not warrant a second attempt at holding office.
