AOC’s Green New Deal BLASTED by Bird Lovers

The “Green New Deal” could mean the death of hundreds of thousands of birds.

Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be the high-flying star of the “resistance” show, but bird experts are about to clip her wings.

That’s because AOC’s “Green New Deal” bill could be absolutely devastating for avian wildlife.

The nonbinding Green New Deal resolution proposed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., is being sold by its supporters as a necessary part of environmentalists’ plan to save animals and humans from the long-term effects of catastrophic climate change.

But if the proposal were to become law, it would result in untold millions of birds being slaughtered by Democrats’ supposedly “environmentally friendly” green energy sources, including wind farms and solar energy facilities.

Just how many birds are we talking about here?

Wind turbines kill hundreds of thousands of birds every year. One study published in the academic journal Biological Conservation estimates as many as 328,000 birds are killed annually from collisions with wind turbines, even though wind turbines accounted for only 6.6 percent of U.S. energy generation in 2018.

Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal resolution would require most energy generation to come from wind and solar power. Powering half the United States using wind power would necessitate about 234,000 additional wind turbines, resulting in the death of as many as 1.5 million more birds every year from wind-turbine collisions. If the entire country were to be powered by wind turbines, as many as 3 million birds would die from wind-turbine collisions annually, or about 30 million per decade.

Also of concern are the immense tracts of land needed to produce power with these particular renewable resources, as the output per square foot of wind and solar versus coal or nuclear power is dramatically different.

Seattle Police Chief Shreds City Council After Angry Activists Target Her Home

Published

The chief of police for the city of Seattle has come out hard against city council for allowing “mob rule” in the city after angry activists — the same folks who claim to be out for equality and tolerance — targeted her home over the weekend, which caused fear to spread among her neighbors. Folks, no matter what side of the issue you stand on, the fact that individuals are feeling threatened by acts of violence and rioting due to the work of these people and their unhinged behavior is totally unacceptable. Here’s more on this from The Daily Wire: “I wanted to update you on recent events, particularly those that occurred late last night,” Best wrote in a letter addressed to City Council President Lorena González and Public Safety Chair Lisa Herbold. “A residence of mine in Snohomish County was targeted by a large group of aggressive protestors late last night. My neighbors were concerned by such a large group, but they were successful in ensuring the crowd was not able to trespass or engage in other illegal behavior in the area, despite repeated attempts to do so. Currently, the local sheriff (not SPD resources) is monitoring the situation.” “I urge both of you, and the entire council, to stand up for what is right. These direct actions against elected officials, and especially civil servants like myself, are out of line with and go against every democratic principle that guides our nation,” Best continued. “Before this devolves into the new way of doing business by mob rule here in Seattle, and across the nation, elected officials like you must forcefully call for the end of these tactics.” “The events of this summer were initiated in a moment of grief and outrage over the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis…

Ex-White House Spokesman Says Joe Biden Shouldn’t Debate President Trump

Published

on

One of the major benefits of having all of this coronavirus hoopla going on in our nation is that the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, Joe Biden, has an excuse to avoid public appearances and making a bigger fool of himself than he already has over the last 12 months. Then again, maybe that’s why the left is fighting so hard to keep mass gatherings limited or completely banned? Perhaps, just maybe, Biden’s campaign doesn’t want the guy to be able to debate Trump publicly for fear of how much of a fool he’ll look like and out of fear that the stupid things he says will be impossible to bounce back from? If you think that sounds far-fetched, check out what a former press secretary for President Bill “let’s party hardy at Epstein Island” Clinton said about Biden debating the president. He said Biden should just not show up. Here’s more from The Daily Wire: Joe Lockhart penned an op-ed piece for CNN in which he advises the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate to ignore the three debates, which begin Sept. 29. “Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump,” Lockhart wrote last week. “Trump has made more than 20,000 misleading or false statements according to the Washington Post. It’s a fool’s errand to enter the ring with someone who can’t follow the rules or the truth. Biden will undoubtedly take heat from Republicans and the media for skipping the debates. But it’s worth the risk as trying to debate someone incapable of telling the truth is an impossible contest to win.” Yeah. Or you could just admit that your candidate has clear mental health issues going on and you’re afraid he’s going to say something incoherent or outrageous that’s going to draw a lot of attention. Just tell the truth, folks. And…
