As Shutdown Fight Turns Nasty, Trump Urges McConnell to Go ‘Nuclear’

We will have to see if McConnell’s views have changed due to the President’s not-so-subtle message.

border wall

With less than a day left to keep the government running, Donald Trump is pulling out all the stops, and he’s doing so as publicly as ever.

Among the tumult of the Washington swamp, President Trump has been demanding a wall on our southern border almost incessantly during his first two years as the President.  This isn’t some pet project that he’s obsessed with, however.  This is what the American people responded to on the campaign trail in 2016, and it’s likely a large part of the President’s popularity among the citizens of this great nation.  To defy them is to defy the duty of public servant, and President Trump understands that explicitly.

That’s why he is pushing Mitch McConnell to make a bold and decisive action on border wall funding today.  Nigh, immediately.

“Mitch, use the Nuclear Option and get it done!” he wrote on Twitter. “Our Country is counting on you!”

The government funding bill, including the $5 billion for border security passed the House of Representatives on Thursday with a wide majority.

Senate Democrats have vowed to oppose the bill which would prevent it from reaching the 60 vote threshold required to move forward.

Senator Steve Daines of Montana floated the option of using the nuclear option, which would allow the legislation to move forward with a 51 vote majority.

“House just passed a bill that fully funds government and enables Donald Trump to secure our border/build the wall,” he wrote on Twitter. “Senate can do same by eliminating the filibuster. 51 votes, same as we do for judges!”

McConnell has openly opposed the use of the “nuclear option” in the border wall fight, but that was before the President explicitly called for it.

Riot? Insurrection?

John Salvatore

Left-wing violence is not violence to the left. Rioting, looting, fighting back against cops – those people are the real patriots, they’ll say. But when a group of supposed conservatives are literally invited by cops into the Capitol building in Washington DC, it’s insurrection! Check out what happened on Friday near Seattle. Did you hear about any of this on the news? From KIRO7: BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Protestors broke into City Hall in Bellingham on Friday, forcing the mayor to be escorted out of the building for safety. Mayor Seth Fleetwood said it is impossible to ignore the parallels to the storming of the Washington D.C. Capitol Building on Jan. 6. CONTINUED: “It was unsettling,” Fleetwood said. “They banged on the door and we got word they had somehow broken it open and were entering, and I was advised to leave,” he said. Fleetwood said he was ushered out a back door and driven away from the building to his car. WATCH:

Pro-Choice Protesters Storm Catholic Church In Middle of Mass, Call for Abortion On-Demand

Is there even a word for this kind of depravity?

John Salvatore

“Two, four, six, eight this church teaches hate!” That’s what these crazed radicals chanted when they stormed into a Catholic Church like a pack of imbeciles. Considering Joe Biden is a “devout Catholic” – LOL – he’ll surely have something to say, right? This is not a story you’ll see on news broadcasts tonight. From Catholic News Agency: “Fund abortion, not cops,” said one of their signs. “Abortion on Demand. End Hyde Now,” said another, apparently referring to the Hyde Amendment, which bans most federal funding for abortion. At least two protesters wore vests that read “clinic escort” on the back. Police and church officials escorted the protestors outside, where some protesters appeared to make obscene gestures at them, according to video from The Columbus Dispatch. Friday marked the 48th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, which mandated permissive abortion laws nationwide. WATCH: This is the definition of pure evil.
