Biden's New COVID Mandates Draw Mass Criticism, Cries of Overreach
With fears of the delta and mu variants beginning to spiral out of control, the federal government is succumbing to pressure from the far left this week, and announcing strict new mandates throughout the public and private sectors.
In a Thursday speech, US President Joe Biden is expected to announce a number of new measures meant to curb the coronavirus pandemic, including vaccine mandates that aren’t likely to go over well with many Americans.
The expansive rules mandate that all employers with more than 100 workers require them to be vaccinated or test for the virus weekly, affecting about 80 million Americans. And the roughly 17 million workers at health facilities that receive federal Medicare or Medicaid also will have to be fully vaccinated.

In addition to the vaccination requirements, Biden is moving to double federal fines for airline passengers who refuse to wear masks on flights or to maintain face covering requirements on federal property in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
Not only will the mandate draw criticism from the bodily sovereignty crowd, but given that the White House explicitly denied interest in issuing vaccine mandates as recently as July, there are plenty within the Democratic party who will now be wondering just how far they can trust Joe Biden.
