CNN's Jim Acosta Tries to Ask Trump a Question, Gets Shutdown Immediately

President Donald Trump has a very tense relationship with various media outlets, chief among them, CNN. On numerous occasions he has taken aim at the news organization for their obviously biased coverage against him and their treatment of conservatives in general, referring to them as “fake news.”

CNN has done a fairly good job of actually earning this title, especially when blowing certain stories out of proportion or taking things out of context on a regular basis.

One of the network’s most egregious offenders is loud mouth reporter Jim Acosta. Acosta has a well earned reputation for being disrespectful, yelling, and all sorts of things at press conferences.

Acosta recently attempted to ask Trump a question during his visit to the UK, but it backfired badly.

CNN’s Jim Acosta tried to get the president’s attention during the presser, but Trump told him he was going to take questions from a “real” news outlet instead and then called on John Roberts from Fox News.

“John Roberts, go ahead, John,” Trump said.

“May I ask you a question?” Acosta interjected.

“No, John Roberts go ahead,” Trump repeated. “CNN is fake news. I don’t take questions from CNN. CNN is fake news.”

“Let’s go to a real network,” Trump added.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper complained about the display on Twitter, asserting, “Old enough to remember when other networks came to the defense of Fox News WH correspondents during the Obama years. Such did not happen here. Lesson for the kids out there: no one should ever try to do the right thing with the expectation it will ever be reciprocated.”

Ouch. Seriously. That’s going to leave one heck of a mark on Acosta’s inflated ego. In the long run though, that’s probably going to be good for him. Pride comes before the fall they say, so having his arrogance put in check might actually help him avoid making serious mistakes.

The whole point of the press is to hold elected officials accountable for their actions and policies by honest, fair reporting. By having a passionate dedication to the truth, no matter where it leads.

Unfortunately, modern day media is more concerned with sensationalism and with pushing a particular political agenda. Major outlets have become propaganda machines. That’s not what America needs. Americans are smart folk. We don’t need to be told what to think. Just give the facts and trust the people with what they are given.
