Cohen Makes Absurd Claim About Trump's Favoritism Toward His Children
In recent months, it has become rather apparent the Michael Cohen is looking to use his newfound infamy to parlay himself into some sort of media career, and this week was no exception.
Cohen began his life in the public eye as one of Donald Trump’s former lawyers – a “fixer” if you ask him. Cohen was part and parcel to the convoluted saga regarding Stormy Daniels, and spent an entire congressional testimony session lying to Congress on Trump’s behalf before getting caught and immediately changing his tune in an attempt to save himself from jail time. This obviously shredded his credibility, but that hasn’t stopped the mainstream media from calling on him for the “I’ll say anything” entertainment that he provides.
The disgraced former lawyer has now attempted to suggest that Donald Trump is engaging in open favoritism in regard to his children.
Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen claimed Trump said that if one of his kids had to go to prison over the family business to “make sure” it was Donald Jr., not Ivanka.
Speaking to MSNBC on Saturday, Cohen said Trump gave him the instruction when his children were on the verge of being indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office in 2012.
“You may recall that there was the district attorney’s case here for Trump Soho where it was either Don or Ivanka was in very big trouble as a result of lying about the number of units that had been sold,” Cohen told MSNBC’s Alex Witt .
Then came the big “reveal”.
“And Donald said it to me – I mean I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t said directly to me – he goes ‘if one or the other has to go to prison, make sure that it’s Don because Don would be able to handle it.'”
Of course, given Cohen’s history of untrue statements, it will be hard to take this hyperbolic claim seriously.
