Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) is a very brilliant man, so much so that even liberal Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz said he was the smartest student he ever taught.

On Monday, Cruz unloaded on radically liberal actress Alyssa Milano like it was his job.

After all, he’s just imparting knowledge on someone who knows so very little.

Far-left activist Alyssa Milano inquired on Sunday about whether self-defense was a God-given right, and she promptly received a first-class education from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on the subject.

Milano’s tweet was directed at Texas State Rep. Matt Schaefer (R-Tyler), who delivered a blistering rebuke to anti-Second Amendment advocates in response to this weekend’s tragedy in Odessa, Texas, in which a man went on a shooting spree after being pulled over by troopers, taking the lives of 7 people and injuring over 20.

Can someone cite which passage of the Bible God states it is a god-given right to own a gun? This guy is unbelievable and is clearly owned by the gun lobby. #NoRA

An excellent Q, worth considering carefully w/o the snark of Twitter. It is of course not the right to a modern-day firearm that is God-give but rather the right to Life & the right to Liberty. Essential to that right to life is the right to DEFEND your life & your family. 1/x

2/x The right to self-defense is recognized repeatedly in the Bible, eg Exodus 22:2: “If a thief is caught breaking in at night & is struck a fatal blow, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed.” (Note, though, verse 3 says it IS murder if during daylight (ie, not self-defense).

3/x The Declaration of Independence acknowledges our rights thusly: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

4/x And, for that reason, the Second Amendment provides “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, SHALL NOT be infringed.” It wasn’t to protect people’s ability to hunt, or to shoot target practice, but to defend their lives, their homes & their families.

5/x Stephen Willeford exercised that fundamental right when he risked his own life to stop the Sutherland Springs murderer, saving countless others as a result.

6/x St. George Tucker, one of the most important scholars in early America, explained the reasons behind the Second Amendment as follows: “This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty. . . . The right of self defence is the first law of nature….”

7/x “…in most govts it has been the study of rulers to confine this right w/in the narrowest limits possible. Wherever…the right…to keep & bear arms is, under any…pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.”

8/x That’s also why, post Civil War, disarming Black Americans was a critical objective of the KKK, and was memorialized in countless Jim Crow laws—to strip African-Americans of their God-given right to self-defense from violence.

9/x I’m a Texan. What happened in Midland-Odessa—and El Paso, Santa Fe & Sutherland Springs—was sick, deranged & horrifying. We need to do MUCH more to stop violent criminals & those w/ dangerous mental illness BEFORE they murder & I’m leading the fight in the Senate to do so.

10/x Playing politics w/ these deranged crimes—and trying to use them as an excuse to violate the constl rights of law-abiding citizens—won’t make anybody safer. Forcible gun confiscation (as some 2020 Dems urge) won’t prevent mass-murders. But it would weaken our self-defense.

Democratic Congressman Hints At Possible Continuous Impeachment Efforts, Says ‘We Can Impeach Again’

Texas Rep. Al Green is not helping to dispel the notions held by conservatives that the whole impeachment inquiry House Democrats have launched against President Trump is a coup designed to help them get revenge for Hillary’s loss in 2016 with his latest comments suggesting impeachment could be a continuous process. On Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi made an announcement stating the House Judiciary Committee would be drafting up articles of impeachment against the president as part of the final steps before taking the measure to the House for a full vote. If the House succeeds in voting to impeach President Trump, the process will then head over to the Republican-controlled Senate. As of right now, there’s very little support available to actually convict Trump of any wrongdoing, so chances are high that impeachment will fail in the Senate. Here’s more from The Washington Examiner: Green claimed that shouldn’t dissuade Democrats from moving rapidly toward impeachment. During a speech on the House floor on Thursday, Green reminded his colleagues that there is “no limit” to the number of times they can impeach the president. “The Constitution allows a president to be impeached more than once,” Green explained. “If we impeach now, or at some time in the near future, for one issue that we dearly should, then we find later that the president has other issues that merit impeachment, we can impeach again. There is no limit on the number of times.” Green noted that he doesn’t believe Trump should be impeached “needlessly,” despite having forced a vote on impeachment three times before the current effort to remove Trump following his controversial phone call with Ukrainian leaders. Reporter Asks Nancy Pelosi If She Hates President Trump; She Responds With ‘Don’t Mess With Me’

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi ripped into a news reporter after he asked her if she personally hated President Trump. Pelosi was just starting to walk out of her weekly held press conference when reporter James Rosen asked, “Do you hate the president, Madam Speaker?” This, of course, caused Pelosi to stop in her tracks. She actually turned around and headed back to the podium and condemned the question, stating that she’s Catholic and often prays for the president. Here’s more from The Washington Examiner: “Don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that,” Pelosi said. “As a Catholic, I resent you using ‘hate’ in a sentence that references me.” Rosen told Pelosi the question echoes accusations by Republicans and the GOP witness at the Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday that Democrats are moving to impeach Trump because they don’t like him. Pelosi denied it. “I don’t hate anyone,” Pelosi said. “We don’t hate anyone.” Pelosi went on to state she has a “heart full of love” always prays for the president despite the fact she disagrees with his agenda for America, even stating that his agenda is not the reason why she wants to impeach him. “It has nothing to do with that,” Pelosi said. “I think the president is a coward when it comes to helping our kids who are afraid of gun violence. I think he is cruel when it comes to helping our Dreamers. I think he is in denial when it comes to climate change.
