Dan Crenshaw Unleashes on Pelosi for Covering for Biden on Afghanistan Disaster

Western Journal

When Rep. Dan Crenshaw criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a Fox News interview on Wednesday, it was much more than a response to the loggerheads moment on Capitol Hill.

It was even more than an expression of the mounting frustration and fury of American conservatives watching an inept president and his radical party engage in an orgy of destructive behavior that’s damaging the United States at home and around the world.

It was laying the groundwork for a campaign strategy for the GOP to regain power in the halls of Congress next year and bring President Joe Biden to account for an administration that’s humiliating the country.

In the “Fox & Friends” interview, the Texas Republican and former Navy SEAL — who gave his right eye fighting in the country Biden has now turned over to Islamic terrorists — was talking specifically about the failure of a bill that would have forced the Biden administration to take “every necessary step” to evacuate American citizens from Afghanistan, among other things.

That’s not being a co-equal branch of government. It’s covering for a president whose Afghan disaster has proven him a failure (if there were any doubt).

But the message was about a problem even bigger than the military and diplomatic disaster of Biden’s Afghanistan surrender. It was about the relentless determination of congressional Democrats, chiefly Pelosi, to protect Biden from any political consequences for his behavior.

The administration, Crenshaw said, refused to be dissuaded from its ruinous path in Afghanistan. Now, Biden’s political party is refusing to hold him accountable for an abomination that has cost the lives of American service personnel and left the country’s international credibility in tatters.

Check it out here:

“Leading up to this, we’ve tried everything we could. We tried to get the Biden administration to not engage in such a silly plan, right?” Crenshaw said.

“We tried to prevent this from happening,” he said. “That didn’t work. As they followed through with it, we tried to get them to fix it.

“You know, Republicans were on the House floor yesterday asking for unanimous consent that we vote on a bill that would simply demand that the administration give us a plan for getting Americans out, getting our equipment out and not recognize the Taliban. There was nothing partisan about that at all. But Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats refused to even allow a vote on it.

“They want no accountability whatsoever. They don’t even want to fix the problem or admit that there is a problem.”

Crenshaw was talking about the Afghanistan Withdrawal Oversight and Liability Act– going by the acronym AWOL. (As good a term as any for the courage, sense of honor or common sense that are missing from the Biden White House.)

The bill was shot down Tuesday, as The Hill reported, when Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell of Michigan — who was chairing the pro forma session while the House is in recess — adjourned without any action calling a moment of silence for the 13 American service members who lost their lives in last week’s terrorist attack at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul that killed dozens of Afghans as well.

As admirable and necessary as it is for the nation’s elected officials to honor the men and women who died thanks to Biden’s folly — 11 Marines, a Navy corpsman and an Army staff sergeant — it’s also vital that the people’s representatives hold the president to account.

And that, Crenshaw said, is what Pelosi and her party refuse to do.

“So now we’re moving into the accountability phase. That’s going to be difficult because we’re in the minority, Democrats in the majority,” he said, according to Fox News.

“They might have some show hearings, but they really have no intention, as they’ve already shown, of holding this administration accountable,” the congressman said.

And that’s where the 2022 midterm strategy comes in.

The American people might be lied to on a regular basis by the mainstream media. They might be censored by social media giants intent on keeping Democrats in power.

But they are not fools. And the failures of the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress are too evident to be hidden.

Will Republicans take back the House in the 2022 midterms?

The Afghanistan “withdrawal” became the Afghanistan surrender, with American citizens left in enemy hands along with billions of dollars in military weapons and equipment that will almost certainly be used against U.S. forces in the future.

Biden’s disaster on the southern border is too big for even the mainstream media to cover up.

The profligate rate of government spending – disguised as coronavirus relief or “infrastructure” funds but really aimed solely at satisfying the Democrats’ socialistic impulses – has helped drive inflation trends in ways that have to worry a party that’s clinging to power by a handful of votes in the House and literally one vote in the Senate.

Statements like Crenshaw’s should have Democrats more than worried — they should be terrified.

In the first seven short – but nightmarishly long – months of the Biden presidency, Democrats have proved beyond any doubt that they have no interest in holding the president accountable for his decisions.

When Republicans run on that, convincing voters that the country’s future demands an opposition party that will hold the White House accountable, that will end the mad rule of a political party that becomes more deranged daily, they’ve got a solid chance of flipping the House, flipping the Senate and turning the country back onto a sustainable course.

Crenshaw, with the one eye he hasn’t given in the service of his country, can see more clearly than Nancy Pelosi or any other Democrat in power.

Come November 2022, conservatives and Republicans can make sure the country’s voters do, too.

Marine Vet Gets Award for Stopping Robbery, But His Anti-Biden Shirt Steals the Show

U.S. Marine veteran James Kilcer, who thwarted an attempted robbery in an Arizona convenience store last week, received an award Tuesday from the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office while wearing a “Let’s Go Brandon” T-shirt.

He was also sporting a red “Make America Great Again” hat, apparently in support of former President Donald Trump.

Sheriff Leon Wilmot presented Kilcer with the YCSO Citizen’s Valor Award, “For extraordinary heroism and exceptional courage while voluntarily coming to the aid of another citizen during an incident involving criminal activity at extreme, life threatening, personal risk in an attempt to save or protect human life,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

“The YCSO Citizen’s Valor Award is the highest award for citizens whose actions warrant recognition.”

Surveillance video of Kilcer stopping the robbery at the Chevron convenience store early in the morning on Oct. 20 went viral.

The now-U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground employee had just purchased some Gatorades and other items and was talking to the clerk when the suspects came in, Kilcer told the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.

“I heard the door start opening forcefully and my ‘Spidey senses’ or whatever kind of tingling, and I turn around and saw they were coming in real quick,” he said.

The veteran turned around and his military training kicked in as he sought to disarm the robber.

“I was ready: I saw it coming,” Kilcer said. “The minute my hands closed around it, I never lost contact with the gun. And I pulled him down.”

He held the suspect down until law enforcement arrived.

The person arrested was a 14-year-old juvenile who has now been charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.

“Kilcer served as a tactical air operations technician in the Marine Corps and was deployed to Afghanistan during his time in the military. He credits his actions to his Marine Corps basic training and mindset,” DVIDS reported.

“I guess I was just in the right place at the right time,’’ Kilcer said. “I was doing what needed to be done.”

While appearing on Fox News on Friday, the Arizonan also waded into the political when he ended the segment, saying with a smile to host Dana Perino, “And remember, [Jeffrey] Epstein didn’t kill himself.”

“OK, got it,” said Perino, who laughed and added, “Very clever.”

Surgeon Fired After Speaking Against School Mask Mandate: ‘Professionals Such as Myself Are Being Silenced’

A Minnesota doctor is paying the price for standing up to authority.

On Oct. 11, Dr. Jeffrey Horak told the Fergus Falls school board that parents, not school officials, should be in charge of deciding whether their children wear masks to school, according to Fox News.

Nine days later the surgeon was informed by Lake Region Healthcare, a hospital in Fergus Falls, that he could either resign or be fired.

At the meeting, the school board decided to put in place a mask mandate for elementary school students as a two-week experiment, according to KFGO-FM.

Horak spoke out against the mandate.

“I’m used to wearing masks. I’m not trying to do it while I’m running or playing in the gym or all that other stuff. These masks, you want to stop the virus. The example of it is like trying to stop a mosquito with a chain-link fence, good luck,” he said, according to KFGO-FM.

Horak said parents are the ones who should be making decisions about masks.

“Who does God put in charge of these kids? Their parents. God gave each one of these kids … to their parents, and they speak for them. They may be wrong, they may be dumb, they may be perfect in their decisions. But it’s still their responsibility. It’s not yours. God gave it to them. Honor their wishes, either side of the fence,” he said.

Horak said he was then told his “views were no longer congruent with that of Lake Region Healthcare” and he had to choice to quit or be fired, Fox reported.

“We live in America where freedoms are held close. I am a man who believes individuals have the right to do their research and decide what is best for them and their children when it comes to their health. I don’t believe governments or institutions should dictate that,” Horak said in a post-dismissal statement published by KVRR-TV.

In his statement, Horak said there were many possible reasons for his termination, adding “perhaps my termination is because I was empowering the parents.”

Dr. Greg Smith, the president of the Medical Group Board for the Lake Region Medical Group, said the board made the “decision to discontinue Dr. Jeff Horak’s employment contract after a thorough review process,” according to a statement given to Fox.

“The reasons for Dr. Horak’s separation are a confidential matter,” Smith said. “To be clear, this was a decision that was made by Dr. Horak’s peers who serve on the Medical Group Board, not by Lake Region Healthcare, the community-based hospital where Dr. Horak practiced General Surgery.”

Local residents rallied on behalf of Horak.

“This isn’t a conservative vs. liberal, or vaxed vs. unvaxed, or mask vs. no mask issue,” rally organizer Angie Brown said, according to Fox.

“This is an issue of right vs. wrong, and I am so happy that so many in our community recognized this wrong and were willing to show up, both to support Dr. Horak, but to also, in a peaceful way, voice their disagreement with Lake Region Medical Group,” she continued.

Horak spoke at the rally, noting that in the current climate, freedom is in danger.

“One, you’re becoming aware that your freedoms are being taken away. Two, professionals such as myself are being silenced, and then so are you. If it happens to me, it can happen to all of us,” Horak said. “And third, you’re afraid. We’re all afraid. Today I want to empower you to say, ‘I stand up with Dr. Horak. Truly, I stand with you.'”
