De Blasio Annihilates Cuomo in Latest Call for Resignation

“I mean, this guy is past the point of no return”.

The short list of folks who were still standing by Andrew Cuomo continues to shrink this week, as the New York Governor faces renewed legal trouble.

Cuomo, who is now under criminal investigation over the sexual harassment of at least 11 women, has been defiant in the face of call for his resignation, including from the White House itself.

A little closer to home, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has also called for Cuomo to step aside, with each iteration of the sentiment growing less gracious.

His latest was downright scathing.

“An assault on a woman, any assault on a woman, he should face criminal charges,” de Blasio, a longtime opponent of Cuomo, said on CNN. “On top of that, if you use your power and position to cover up the assault — that sounds criminal to me.”

“His statement was laughable and his attempt to show pictures of him with family members as a defense was an insult to these women — an insult to the whole notion that a public servant is held to a high standard,” de Blasio said.

“He should resign and if he won’t resign, he should be impeached as quickly as possible,” the mayor continued, doubling down on his earlier calls for Cuomo to resign. “He can’t govern, he can’t govern.”

Then came a dire soundbite.

“I mean, this guy is past the point of no return,” he continued. “He can’t govern, he just has to go.”

De Blasio joins a vast number of notable politicians who are ready for Cuomo to step down.

One year into the Biden presidency, and it certainly doesn’t appear as though the 46th President of these United States has any plan to right the ship.

Biden, along with Vice President Kamala Harris, have been characterized as being asleep at the wheel of the nation, with the Commander in Chief himself appearing to be truly reluctant to govern at all.  (The Democrats did have to coax him into running in the first place, so perhaps we should not be surprised).

This unwillingness to make change has Americans brutally punishing the President in the polls.

President Biden faced criticism from over soaring gas prices, inflation and his policies as his approval rating sank to 33% in a recent poll.

“I give him a minus 10,” Stuart, of Tucson, said when asked to grade Biden on a scale of 1-10.

“If you like inflation, you like illegal criminals coming across the border, if you like where he killed the gasoline,” he continued.

Arland, of San Francisco, gave Biden a seven and said, “I think he’s got his heart in the right place, but his policies don’t have that much effect.”

And then, succinctly:

Sanjoy, from Arizona, also gave the president a seven, but said, “I literally have no idea what he’s doing.”

Other polling has also suggested that the Democratic Party is seeking to replace Biden on the 2024 ticket, despite the President’s assurances that he plans to run again.
