Dem ‘Dream Team’ Should Make for Gaffe-Prone 2019

It’s time to pop the popcorn, folks.  This is going to be hilarious.

2018 election

The left was denied their massive “blue wave” last night, but that won’t stop them from providing us with loads of entertainment in 2019.

For the cynical political observer such as myself, the gains made by the democrats in last night’s 2018 midterm elections could translate into some wild antics in the coming legislative session.  This will be led by none other than Nancy Pelosi, assuming the role of speaker of the house despite her incessant and unflappable ability to stick her foot directly into her mouth.

But Nancy’s not the only one…

Meanwhile, Rep. Maxine Waters, another California Democrat and one who has repeatedly called for Trump’s impeachment, could soon control her own committee — which would yield her the power to subpoena and control the fate of legislation.

Then there’s Rep. Adam Schiff, a true Trump hater who is beloved by the mainstream media.

Another California Democrat, Schiff could likely rise to chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, where he is now the ranking member.

Schiff, 58, said in an interview with CNN that the committee would “investigate questions involving Russian money laundering and President Donald Trump’s businesses.” Schiff said his committee would work in tandem with Waters’ focus on potential money-laundering schemes involving the Trump campaign and Russia, saying he’ll back Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into alleged collusion.

The list goes on…

Then there’s Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who would be poised to take over the House Judiciary Committee. Nadler could work with Schiff to oversee any attempt to impeach Trump.

Nadler, 71, was on the committee when it voted to impeach former President Bill Clinton, but he said then that the vote was an attempted coup and a “gross abuse” of the impeachment power. He apparently doesn’t think that any more.

“If the president perjured himself about colluding with Russians, that would be worthy of impeachment,” Nadler said in September. “Perjury about some real estate deal that happened 10 years ago that the Trump Organization took, that would not be an impeachable offense. It would be a crime.”

And, outside of these soon to be filled leadership roles, there’s a new girl on the block as well, whose penchant for nonsense precedes her.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez

Hunter Biden Agreed to $10Million-Per-Year Deal to Spread Chinese Influence

WHOA!

There are plenty of different traits that we look for in our public servants:  They should be hard-working.  They should be even-keeled.  They should be incorruptible.  And, perhaps most of all, they shouldn’t be aligning themselves with foreign interests while working for the American people.

This last bit has always been of the utmost importance, particularly in this modern era in which we’ve allowed all manner of get-rich-quick schemes to infiltrate our political landscape.

The latest troubling news from the world of international wealth corrupting American democracy comes to us, unsurprisingly, from the orbit of the President’s son, Hunter Biden.

A damning new report claims that Hunter Biden helped expand Chinese influence in America in a $10 million a year agreement and an $80,000 diamond.

In her new book, Laptop from Hell, New York Post columnist Miranda Devine, describes Hunter Biden’s business dealings with a Chinese-linked energy consortium, called CEFC.

Based on hundreds of emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop which he left in a Delaware repair shop in April 2019, and transcripts of messages from WhatsApp, she claims that the Biden family offered their services to CEFC to help expand its business around the world.

And, of course, the Clintons were involved:

Devine writes in her new book, out Tuesday, that Ye Jianming, the chairman of CEFC China Energy, was tasked with expanding the Chinese energy consortium’s influence around the world, and James Gillar, a former SAS officer, recommended he link up with the Biden family.

Gillar reportedly connected Ye with Hunter Biden through Rob Walker, a former Clinton administration official, whose wife, Betsy Massey Walker, had been Jill Biden’s assistant when she was second lady.

Laptop From Hell is expected to hit bookshelves on Tuesday.

Democratic Polling Reveals Top Two 2024 Candidates if Biden Opts Out

This is the best they’ve got?

Oddly, and almost inexplicably, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki asserted that Joe Biden, one of the least-popular presidents in modern history, is already set on running for reelection in 2024.  This, despite that fact that Biden’s polling numbers are abjectly horrible and the Democratic Party’s most enthusiastic demographics are far from thrilled bout the idea voting for such an ineffective Commander in Chief again.

And let’s not forget that we’re only 10-or-so months into Biden’s first term; there is still plenty of time for things to get worse for the man who was reluctant to run in the first place.

Should Biden actually read the writing on the wall, however, there are two candidates that the Democrats do actually seem enthused about in 2024.

Vice President Kamala Harris is the top choice for Democrats if President Biden chooses not to run again in 2024, according to a new poll.

The vice president received support from 13% of respondents in The Hill/HarrisX poll despite her historically low approval ratings, according to The Hill.

Former first lady Michelle Obama came in second with backing of 10%.

Receiving support below 10% were a handful of former 2020 hopefuls, including Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker; billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg; businessman Andrew Yang; and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Michelle Obama was resolute in her decision not to run in 2020, and Kamala Harris’ first few months in office as the Vice President have been less than promising.

There is some buzz about Pete Buttigieg possibly running in 2024, (or 2028), but there’s no telling if the current Transportation Secretary has given any thought to the Oval Office as of yet.
