Dem-Socialist Darling Begins Congressional Career with Vote Protest
As the left continues down a path of progression for the sake of progression, there are bound to be moments of pure insanity littered throughout.
We have to remember that change isn’t always necessary, and forcing that change to come results in some zany, pointless decisions being made. Forced progressions are just that, forced, and contribute nothing but meaningless maneuvers to an already cumbersome system.
Sometimes, things are just fine the way they are.
Amid these nonstop, forced adjustments, the left have begun electing some peculiar characters to represent them, one of which being democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Cortez, whose political career has been marred by embarrassment, began her stint in Congress officially today…and did so by revolting.
On her first day on Capitol Hill a week after winning the election, democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez participated in a protest sit-in staged outside the office of soon-to-be-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Now, on the first day that the Democrats officially take over the House, the radical representative is helping lead a “liberal revolt” that, as the San Francisco Chronicle puts it, “threatens to derail House Democrats on their first day in charge.”
Democratic Reps Ocasio-Cortez (NY) and Ro Khanna (CA) say they will vote against a sweeping internal rules change package assembled and promoted by Pelosi. The rules change is just the second vote Democrats will take Thursday. Ocasio-Cortez and Khanna’s issue: the package’s inclusion of a pay as you go (PAYGO) measure, which prevents the House from increasing the budget deficit by requiring offsets for any additional spending.
Cortez has been quite obvious with her opinion of herself, spending much of her post-election time making cringeworthy statements about her importance.
