Democrat Mayors From ‘Lawless’ Cities Respond To Trump’s Plan To Defund Them

Published

The White House announced on Wednesday that they were going to go after “lawless cities” that have done nothing to stop violent riots, looting, and all around anarchy in their streets by stripping them of their federal funding.

President Trump tweeted out, “My Administration will do everything in its power to prevent weak mayors and lawless cities from taking Federal dollars while they let anarchists harm people, burn buildings, and ruin lives and businesses,” Trump tweeted. “We’re putting them on notice today.”

There were four cities named in the memo. Those cities are Portland, Seattle, New York City, and Washington, D.C.

As you might imagine, the mayors of these cities are none too happy about Trump’s plan.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire:

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio responded by writing on Twitter: “While @realDonaldTrump spent this year hiding from COVID-19, New York City led the fight back. Now we’re trying to recover and he’s making unconstitutional, political threats against us. Mr. President, we’ll see you in court. We’ve beaten you there before and we’ll do it again.”

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler responded: “Trump threatens to withdraw federal funds, possibly including health, education, and safety net dollars Americans are relying on to get through this pandemic and economic crisis.”

“Once again, only progressive communities with democratic Mayors, which he labels ‘anarchist jurisdictions’ – including Portland – are targeted. This is a new low, even for this president,” Wheeler continued. “He continues to believe that disenfranchising people living in this country to advance his petty grudges is an effective political strategy. The rest of us know it is dangerous, destructive, and divisive.”

Guys, if you want to keep the federal funding all you have to do is quell the violent riots tearing up your city streets. This should already be one of your main priorities anyway. So what’s the deal? What’s the hold up here?

Oh. That’s right. In order to stop this madness, they need to support local law enforcement and possibly call on President Trump to send in National Guard troops. This would mean deviating from the Democratic Party marching orders to oppose and undermine Trump at every possible turn.

The citizens of these cities should be made well aware that the leadership here cares more about politics than their lives.

US Air Force Reveals Successful Hypersonic Missile Test

This could put the US back in the driver’s seat as far as missile tech goes.

Much like the global arms races that came before, the superpowers of the world are now looking to add a terrifying new doomsday machine to their arsenals in 2022:  Hypersonic missiles.

The missiles, which could be loaded with nuclear or traditional munitions, fly several times faster than the speed of sound and are said to be unstoppable by current defense technologies.  (The US has played coy with this claim, however, suggesting that our nation is well-defended against them).

Russia and China already possess such weapons.  North Korea keeps insisting that they do too, but the claim is dubious.

The United States, who previously admitted that they were a bit behind in developing these projectiles, made a major announcement on the subject this week.

UPI reports a B-52H Stratofortress aircraft successfully released a AGM-1831 Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) over the weekend that achieved speeds five times greater than the speed of sound.

The test was conducted somewhere off the coast of Southern California, it said.

“This was a major accomplishment by the ARRW team for the weapons enterprise and our Air Force,” Brig. Gen. Heath Collins, Air Force program executive officer for weapons, said in a statement.

“The team’s tenacity, expertise and commitment were key in overcoming the past year’s challenges to get us to the recent success.”

The news comes just months after China secretly test launched a hypersonic missile that circumnavigated the globe before hitting its target.
