Democrat Presidential Candidate Bill de Blasio Releases Plan To Confront Robots. Yes, This Is For Real.

Wow. Just wow.

Democratic presidential candidates are really trying hard to win their party’s coveted nomination, so they are pulling out all the stops, including, apparently, concocting insane plans to deal with the future robot menace threatening the existence of human jobs.

Well, that’s what New York City Mayor and presidential candidate Bill de Blasio is doing anyway.

You can’t make this stuff up.

In response to an article from titled, “Why American Workers Need to be Protected from Automation,” de Blasio tweeted, “As President, I would issue a robot tax for corporations displacing humans, and create a federal agency to oversee automation.”

In a more detailed statement released on his website, de Blasio claimed that “current automation practices are an existential threat to our nation’s workforce that destroys good jobs and directs more and more of the profits only to the wealthiest Americans.”

In response to this alleged threat, de Blasio proposes to create a new federal agency, the Federal Automation and Worker Protection Agency (FAWPA), which would have “broad authority to regulate the widespread growth of automation and oversee its impact on working people.”

Specifically, the plan states, “Any major company seeking to increase automated operations would be required to seek a permit from FAWPA with approval conditioned on the company’s plans to protect existing workers, either by ensuring they receive new jobs with similar pay or severance packages that reflect their tenure of service to the company.”

The plan also features a plethora of tax increases, including the end of the corporate accelerated depreciation tax break, and get this, a legitimate, honest-to-goodness “robot tax” for businesses who eliminate jobs through automation to “pay the equivalent of five years worth of payroll taxes up front for each worker whose job is eliminated.”

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what socialism gone wild looks like in the 21st century. Essentially, what de Blasio is really trying to accomplish here is to make sure that businesses who switch to automation are still paying taxes as if they had human employees, which really sucks away the bottom line and ends up hurting the company gratefully.

Really, it’s an attempt to punish companies for doing something the government doesn’t like, despite the choice made being beneficial for the company and allowing them to make more profit and create more human jobs.

Pretty ridiculous stuff.

Biden’s Rambling Train Story was Filled with False Statements

When Joe Biden spoke at an Amtrak event, he delivered a rambling story about his travels was filled with lies. And the media ignored it.

Last week, when Joe Biden an appearance at the 50-year anniversary of Amtrak, he delivered a rambling story about his travels on the rails that was filled with lies. And the media ignored it. Biden, of course, is famous as “Amtrak Joe” for using the rail line to travel from his home in Delaware to get to Washington D.C. over the many, many, many decades he has been a useless Democrat politician. So, it was a natural to have him show up to help the wasteful, expensive rail service celebrate 50 years of profligate spending of tax dollars. During the event, Biden launched into a rambling, confused, tale about his escapades on Amtrak that turned out to be filled with lies, mistruths, and fake claims. Now, if Trump had delivered such a mess of a speech filled with lies it would have been “fact checked” for weeks and would have led every single news cast for months. But here it is, nearly a week since the speech was delivered and few news outlets have bothered with it. In any case, many of the claims that Biden made were simply not true. And these weren’t just muffed facts. They were lies about his personal experiences. Per the Daily Mail: President Joe Biden’s strange anecdote about reaching 1.5 million miles on Amtrak has come under scrutiny after key inconsistencies emerged that make it impossible to have occurred as he told it. On Friday, delivering a speech in Philadelphia commemorating the 50th anniversary of Amtrak, Biden launched into the tale of a certain conductor congratulating him on reaching the milestone as he traveled to visit his sick mother. Biden said the incident occurred in his ‘fourth or fifth year as vice president’, or around 2014-2015, at which time the conductor he named…

California Bar’s Side Hustle: Fake COVID Vaccination Cards

Police were able to buy several of the phony cards last month.

As we begin to enter into whatever this new “normalcy” will be in the coming weeks, there are concerns among some that unvaccinated Americans could soon be treated like second-class citizens in their own country. This has already been a bit of an issue in certain industries, with airlines pushing hard to establish a coronavirus vaccine passport system, and several major league sports venues having declared that they will segregate the vaccinated and unvaccinated fans who attend their games. This has now spurred a strange side hustle for one California bar. The owner of a San Joaquin County bar was arrested this week for allegedly selling fake COVID-19 vaccination cards. Investigators say the operation ran for weeks out of the Old Corner Saloon in Clements, which has a population of 941. The local sheriff’s office got a tip that fake vaccine cards were being manufactured and sold out of the bar, complete with laminations. The investigation was fairly cut and dry. Investigators with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control then took over. “Undercover agents with our Special Operations Unit were able to purchase multiple cards in April,” said Luke Blehm, deputy division chief at the Alcoholic Beverage Control. “As a result, we also observed several sales of fraudulent COVID-19 vaccination cards to other patrons,” Blehm said. The owner of the bar was selling the cards for only $20.
