Well, that was surprising…

As it stands, this is the longest stretch of time without a confirmed Secretary of Defense in American history.

Patrick Shanahan has been acting SecDef since James “Mad Dog” Mattis resigned last year.

Shanahan was nominated by President Trump for the full-time gig, but no more.

From Newsmax:

Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan has withdrawn from consideration to head the U.S. military, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, stoking uncertainty about the leadership of the Pentagon at a moment of rising tension with Iran.

Trump said Secretary of the Army Mark Esper will be named as the new acting defense secretary. Esper had been considered a leading contender for the job if Shanahan was ultimately not confirmed.

Trump’s tweets:

Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan, who has done a wonderful job, has decided not to go forward with his confirmation process so that he can devote more time to his family….

….I thank Pat for his outstanding service and will be naming Secretary of the Army, Mark Esper, to be the new Acting Secretary of Defense. I know Mark, and have no doubt he will do a fantastic job!

Shanahan recently made clear that hundreds of miles of wall have been contracted to be built on America’s southern border with Mexico.

Democrat hearts are breaking across the country.

So @ActingSecDef just told Congress that 256 new miles of Trump’s Wall is now funded to be built, at the rate of half a mile every day. He said that we will see about “63 additional new miles of wall” constructed six months from now. #thewall

WATCH:

President Trump will now and forever be linked to the wall.

It was his biggest promise to voters in 2016 and he is not content with the current influx of illegal immigration – nor should he be.

45 is now saying that hundreds of miles of wall will be completed by the end of next year.

LOOK:

Congress must change the Immigration Laws now, Dems won’t act. Wall is being built – 400 miles by end of next year. Mexico must stop the march to Border! @foxandfriends

That’s a lot of wall.

Will it happen? Time will tell.

Of course, Trump has to focus on re-election. If he were to lose, bye-bye wall – forever.

POTUS is done playing games.

He knows, as does everybody, that America is a nation of immigrants. That’s a given.

But when too many people abuse the system, something has to change. Things cannot continue to go down the same track when it comes to immigration, legal or illegal.

At some point, enough is enough.

Don’t take my word for it. Allow POTUS to elaborate:

TRUMP: “This is our new statement- the system is full. We can’t take you anymore. Whether it’s asylum or anything you want – illegal immigration – we can’t take you anymore. Our country is full. Our area is full. The sector is full. Can’t take you anymore, I’m sorry. Turn around”

Violent Rioters Burned Home With Kids Inside, Then Blocked Fire Fighters From Getting In

Pure terror!

On Monday morning, just hours removed from a weekend of violent protests all across the nation, Richmond, Virginia Police Chief William Smith described a particularly disturbing event. Smith said, “One incident that is particularly poignant, that truly illustrates the seriousness of the issues we’re facing. Last night protesters intentionally set fire to an occupied building on Broad Street. This is not the only occupied building that has been set fire to in the last two days. But they prohibited us from getting on the scene. We had to force our way to make a clear path for the fire department. The protesters intercepted the fire apparatus several blocks away with vehicles and blocked that fire department’s access to the structure fire. Inside that home was a child.” From NBC12: Chief Smith says last night protesters set fire to a few buildings, including a multi-family residence that was occupied by a child in the 300 block of West Broad Street. As fire crews were arriving, Smith says protesters blocked the engine from reaching the fire. WATCH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEncQKV8k_0&feature=emb_title These people are not protesters. Confirmed: Officials Saying Evidence Shows Violent ‘Organized’ Riots Were Planned (Details)

Did anybody think otherwise?

There should be little doubt in the minds of law-abiding Americans that the violent George Floyd “protests” were planned. No question about it. Even some liberal politicians are seeing the light, at least on this issue. From TDW: At least one big-city mayor is now calling on the federal government to investigate what appears to be an “organized” effort to foment unrest and engage in rioting, as security experts in other cities discover evidence that many of the weekend’s violent incidents may have been pre-planned and coordinated. In Chicago, mayor Lori Lightfoot told media Sunday that she believes there is “strong evidence” of an organized effort to use the weekend’s anti-police brutality protests as a cover for violence, Crain’s Chicago Business reports, and said the city is speaking with at least three Federal agencies about a possible joint investigation. Lightfoot noted, “There is no doubt. This was an organized effort last night. There were clearly efforts to subvert the peaceful process and make it into something violent.” Here’s more riot randomness, via Twitter… https://twitter.com/jsolomonReports/status/1267611851283525632 https://twitter.com/GAFollowers/status/1267610642170687488 https://twitter.com/CNN/status/1267611343282003969 https://twitter.com/taylorcaniff/status/1267611665509437440 https://twitter.com/Matt_Tinney/status/1267613148690837505 https://twitter.com/SBSNews/status/1267613995382390785 https://twitter.com/ABC/status/1267612227093188608
