DHS Secretary Nielsen Destroys Media Over 'Irresponsible' Coverage of Trump Migrant Policies
Over the last several weeks, the mainstream media has been having a feeding frenzy on the Trump administration’s migrant policies, focusing specifically on the separation of families as a grounds for their incessant complaining.
This very issue is why TBS “comedian” Samantha Bee decided to lose her mind and launch vulgar insults at President Trump’s daughter Ivanka, just to give you a small window into the hysterics surrounding this situation.
Well, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen decided it was time to launch a counterstrike, coming out hard against the media’s coverage of Trump’s immigration policies, calling these outlets “irresponsible” and a whole lot more.
“This misreporting by Members, press & advocacy groups must stop,” tweeted Nielsen. “It is irresponsible and unproductive. As I have said many times before, if you are seeking asylum for your family, there is no reason to break the law and illegally cross between ports of entry.”

“You are not breaking the law by seeking asylum at a port of entry,” she continued. “For those seeking asylum at ports of entry, we have continued the policy from previous Administrations and will only separate if the child is in danger, there is no custodial relationship between ‘family’ members, or if the adult has broken a law.”

Nielsen finished her series of tweets by stating how “seriously” her department takes its “duty to protect minors in our temporary custody from gangs, traffickers, criminals, and abuse.”

“The Democrats are forcing the breakup of families at the Border with their horrible and cruel legislative agenda. Any Immigration Bill MUST HAVE full funding for the Wall, end Catch & Release, Visa Lottery and Chain, and go to Merit Based Immigration. Go for it! WIN!” Trump tweeted.

The bottom line here is that if we want to be a nation, we have to be able to define our borders and implement laws that secure those borders and protect our own citizens from becoming victims of violent outsiders who want to take advantage of our liberty and our generosity.
Look at the sheer number of criminals coming across the border. It’s absurd to not want to prevent these unsavory individuals from coming here and wreaking havoc on our own people. There’s plenty of other ways to come here legally if you want to live in America and contribute to our society and culture.
Let’s hope the media one day puts aside it’s anti-Trump agenda and gets back to objective reporting of the facts on these hot button issues.
