DOGG HOUSE: Snoop Sued for Sex Assault Days Before Super Bowl Performance
As the big game approaches, a number of serious controversies have plagued the NFL…and the hits just don’t stop coming.
First and foremost, there is a growing movement to have the NFL’s overtime rules re-written, after fans grew irate over certain aspects of the guidelines. Then there’s the potential “Freedom Trucker” interruption convoy that could make getting to the L.A.-based game difficult for fans and staff alike.
And last, but certainly not least, there’s the half-time show, feating hip hop artists who’ve consistently glorified gang violence, violence against women, misogyny, and more.
As if to add insult to injury in this department, one of tentative performers has just been slapped with a new lawsuit over an alleged sexual assault.
Snoop Dogg is being sued by a former backup dancer who alleges she was the victim of sex trafficking and sexual assault by the rapper and one of his associates.
According to the lawsuit, private mediation was attempted Tuesday and Wednesday morning. The plaintiff’s attorney, Matt E.O. Finkelberg of the Derek Smith Law Group, filed suit in federal court in L.A. immediately after talks failed.
The lawsuit alleges that the rapper walked in on the victim in the bathroom, pulled out his genitalia, and demanded that she perform oral sex on him against her will.
Snoop Dogg’s legal team has made no formal statement on the matter as of this writing, and the NFL is currently planning to go ahead with Snoop as part of the performance on Sunday.
