DOJ Now Hoping to Get Pence in Hot Seat Over J6

With Donald Trump and the MAGA Movement consistently exposing the weaponization of the Biden administration against the former President and his 2024 plans, it now appears as though the DOJ is looking to interview one of Trump’s likely primary competitors.

Mike Pence, Trump’s former Vice President and an increasingly enthusiastic potential contender for the GOP nomination in ’24, is now being targeted by the Department of Justice for an interview regarding the events of January 6th, 2021.

The Justice Department is seeking to question former Vice President Mike Pence as a witness in connection with its criminal investigation into former President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to stay in power after he lost the 2020 election, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Pence, according to people familiar with his thinking, is open to considering the request, recognizing that the Justice Department’s criminal investigation is different from the inquiry by the House Jan. 6 committee, whose overtures he has flatly rejected.

The situation could get messy.

Complicating the situation is whether Mr. Trump would try to invoke executive privilege to stop him or limit his testimony, a step that he has taken with limited success so far with other former officials.

Pence has made several obtuse references to his own potential 2024 campaign, suggesting that there would be “better options” than Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

Now, any information that he gives to the DOJ could find its way into action against Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, further politicizing the situation.
