Don Jr. and Ivanka Respond to New York AG's Subpoenas in Bold Fashion
As Donald Trump stepped away from the White House a year ago, you could almost hear his enemies licking their chops. This signaled an opportunity for them to finally take their shot at the white whale that is The Don.
And there were plenty of these opportunistic enemies out there as well, some who made their feelings toward him known during his time in the White House and others who’ve been hunting him for years. In that latter category sits New York Attorney General Letitia James, whose latest probe into the former President’s organization has targeted employees and family members alike. Just days ago, James subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump in the probe, citing their positions within the company.
The eldest Trump children have now responded to her requests, and ol’ Tish is not going to like it.
Two of Donald Trump’s children have refused to testify to a fraud inquiry into the family’s business.
Donald Jr, 44, and Ivanka, 40, were ordered to give evidence by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
She opened a civil inquiry in 2019 into claims that – before he took office – Mr Trump had inflated the value of his assets to banks when seeking loans.
Mr Trump’s lawyers are trying to stop Ms James from questioning the former US president and his children.
Trump himself has characterized the investigation as another witch hunt whose purpose is merely to damage his reputation ahead of the 2024 election.
