For mainstream media giant CNN, the writing has been on the wall for some time.
The cable news pioneers have fallen hard out of the public favor, in part due to America’s recent conservative awakening, but largely due to the network’s insistence on providing biased, abrasive infotainment. Their editorialized style has been attributed to the radicalization of the liberal left, and continues to amplify irresponsible ideologies from the progressive end of the political spectrum.
Now, as the network undergoes a major overhaul, one of their most fancifully-biased entertainers is taking a major demotion.
CNN’s left-wing host Don Lemon will end his primetime show, “Don Lemon Tonight,” and move to mornings later this year, the network announced on Thursday.
Lemon will join CNN hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins on the “re-imagined” morning show that will replace the long-struggling “New Day.” The move leaves CNN with a gaping hole in primetime, as “Cuomo Prime Time” still has not been replaced since its namesake host Chris Cuomo was fired last year.
Lemon has long been one of the more controversial hosts on cable news, and his move to the mornings is just the latest sign that things are not going all that well over at CNN.
