Perhaps the most salient question in all of American politics today has to do with who will be running for the Republican nomination in 2024, and whether or not anyone other than Donald Trump can actually win that election.
Trump has energized a part of the GOP base that had long stood dormant, fomenting a conservative resurgence the likes of which our nation hasn’t seen in nearly 40 years.
But, with that energy has come some tumult as well, and Trump has also been a punching bag for the mainstream media, and a lightning rod of controversy on account of it.
Now, with the 2024 machine beginning to lurch to life, the former President is opining on just how important it is that he step back into the ring.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, the former president was asked about his plans for a potential White House bid in 2024.Trending:
“I don’t think we’re going to have a choice,” Trump told Fox News. “It is disgraceful.”
Trump went on to bill the Biden administration’s withdrawal of U.S. military assets from Afghanistan as the “greatest embarrassment in the history of our country.”
And he did not mince his words.
“When you look at Afghanistan and what happened, and the death for no reason, just for no reason,” Trump said, adding that military “parents – they want to speak with me – they don’t want to speak with Biden.”
“They’re just devastated,” he said.
“It is getting to a point where we really have no choice,” he added.
Trump has largely been regarded as the GOP frontrunner for 2024, and he still hold an undeniable amount of sway over conservatives as a whole…even 9 months removed from the White House.
