Donald Trump to Mark January 6th Anniversary with Unusual Event
It has been nearly one year since the storming of the Capitol, and the story is continuing to evolve still.
This is largely due to the work of both the FBI and the January 6th select committee, with the former sifting through mountains of evidence while the other attempts to turn that evidence into anti-Trump ammunition. They believe that this is the key to scaring folks away from the Republican Party, and they are milking it for whatever it’s worth.
But now it appears as though Donald Trump will be taking back some of this narrative, and in a not-so-subtle way.
Former President Trump announced he will hold a news conference at his south Florida resort and residence early next month.
“I will be having a news conference on January 6th at Mar-a-Lago,” he said Tuesday in a statement released by Save America, one of his political committees.
Jan. 6, 2022 will mark one year since the storming of the U.S. Capitol by right-wing extremists and other supporters of Trump, who aimed to disrupt congressional certification of now President Biden’s Electoral College victory over Trump in the 2020 election.
While the substance of this press conference has not yet been made public, one can only imagine the fear that it has instilled in the Democratic Party.
