Elon Musk Teases 'Master Plan to Save Mankind'

As if we weren’t already convinced that Elon Musk was one of the most eccentric people to ever become wealthy, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO is now teasing something truly mind-boggling.

Musk, who is still in a prolonged legal fight over his potential ownership of Twitter, is now suggesting that he’s about to unveil the third part of a plan to “save mankind”.

Tesla mogul Elon Musk revealed that the next part of his mankind-saving manifesto is ‘coming soon’.

The billionaire took to Twitter to share the news after he marked the six-year anniversary of the most recent part, simply named ‘Master Plan, Part Deux’.

While details were still vague, Musk seemed to indicate that the next part of his plan will focus on renewable energy.

Fans were eager to see Part Three, to which the world-famous entrepreneur replied: “Coming soon. Part 3 is about scaling sustainable energy at a civilizational level to enable a bright future for Earth.”

In a blog post detailing Part ‘Deux’, written ten years after Part One, Musk wrote: “The first master plan that I wrote 10 years ago is now in the final stages of completion.”

He described the steps he wanted to achieve then, which included creating various standards of cars and providing solar power in his vehicles, creating a jumping-off point for his world-rescuing plans.

He went on to describe the reasons for his multi-step plan, writing: “By definition, we must at some point achieve a sustainable energy economy or we will run out of fossil fuels to burn and civilization will collapse.

“Given that we must get off fossil fuels anyway and that virtually all scientists agree that dramatically increasing atmospheric and oceanic carbon levels is insane, the faster we achieve sustainability, the better.”

And while Musk certainly has the resources to catalyze some enormous changes to the way in which the world operates, the grandiose idea of “saving mankind” still feels a bit egotistical to many, who’ve taken to Twitter to wonder aloud if Musk is truly up to snuff.
