Far More People Have Died From Drug Overdoses In San Francisco Than COVID-19 (Details)

It’s not even close!

The San Francisco government hands out millions of syringes every year to hardcore drug users. We’re talking heroin and fentanyl and the like.

The rationale is that, well, they’re going to do it anyway, so by providing them with the necessary tools may stop crimes from being committing and/or people getting hurt. Hmm, maybe San Fran should try this with guns and see how it turns out – because they’ll probably be surprised.

But to close down a city over COVID when more people have died from drugs is pretty silly.

SAN FRANCISCO — A record 621 people died of drug overdoses in San Francisco so far this year, a staggering number that far outpaces the 173 deaths from COVID-19 the city has seen thus far.

The crisis fueled by the powerful painkiller fentanyl could have been far worse if it wasn’t for the nearly 3,000 times Narcan was used from January to the beginning of November to save someone from the brink of death, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Saturday.

More from Curbed:

Meanwhile, San Francisco Chronicle’s Matier and Ross chimed in Wednesday with an uncomfortable observation: Most of the needles littering streets in downtown neighborhoods came by way of the city itself, as part of the Department of Public Health’s 25-year-old needle exchange program.

According to the paper, the city hands out millions of syringes each year but collects roughly 60 percent of them back.

Fake virus.

SEE IT: Border Crisis at Breaking Point, Prompting TX Governor to Take Drastic Action

Things are turning troublesome in the Lone Star State.

Despite constant pleas and pressure, the Biden administration continues to be unwilling to take action on the southern border, where a humanitarian crisis of nigh-biblical proportions is unfolding.

Would-be Americans from all corners of the globe are rushing the American border in Texas, overwhelming the facilities and authorities there to receive them. Compounding the issue is that fact that these migrants are largely eschewing the official naturalization process and checkpoints, and arriving whenever and wherever they can.

As border czar, Vice President Kamala Harris has been largely absent from the fray, opting to do as-of-yet-unknown work on climate change, claiming that this is a “root cause” of illegal immigration.

Now, as the border is being stormed Texas Governor Greg Abbott has had to make some desperate decisions.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott deployed a contingent of Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol troopers to stop the free flow of mostly Haitian migrants from crossing the Rio Grande. The force of nearly 1,000 troopers and National Guard soldiers entered the makeshift migrant camp housing nearly 15,000 migrants under the Del Rio International Bridge.

On Saturday afternoon, the troopers used vehicles and barbed wire to block access to a weir dam stretching the Rio Grande. The migrants utilized the dam as the primary crossing point from Mexico into the makeshift camp.

Aerial photos demonstrated just what a mess the situation has become in the absence of any federal action.

The undeniable negligence of the Biden administration on this issue has been both confounding and infuriating for a majority of Americans, many of whom have publicly expressed their concerns over the capabilities of the White House over the course of the last several months.

Gabby Petito’s Fiancé on the Run in Florida Swamps, Say Authorities

Should Laundrie escape or take his own life, there could be little hope left of bringing Gabby home.

Published

The saga surrounding the disappearance of Gabby Petito continues to evolve this weekend, in strange and ever-more dramatic ways, and it could lead to yet another layer of tragedy.

Petito and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, were on a cross-country road trip when her family lost contact with her.  Soon after, Laundrie returned home to Florida, sans Gabby, and her parent promptly filed a missing persons report.  Laundrie, unconscionably, refused to cooperate with investigators who were now looking for Petito.

Then, in a twist that could add exponential sorrow to the story, Laundrie has gone on the run after leaving his parents’ home on Tuesday – something that his family did not reveal to authorities until Friday.

Now, the hunt is on for the prime suspect in Petito’s disappearance.

Police spent Saturday searching a “vast” Florida preserve near the Laundrie family’s home after they said late Friday his whereabouts were now unknown, too. Late Saturday, police said they were suspending the search due to darkness and would begin again Sunday morning.

“Be advised that the whereabouts of Brian Laundrie are currently unknown,” an attorney for the family said Friday. “The FBI is currently at the Laundrie residence removing property to assist in locating Brian. As of now the FBI is now looking for both Gabby and Brian.”

Laundrie, 23, has not been seen since Tuesday, according to police and the family’s lawyer.

North Port Police said Saturday morning that they were searching for Laundrie in “the vast Carlton Reserve,” a 24,565-acre preserve north of his home in North Port.

If Laundrie were to evade authorities, or end his own life while on the run, there could be little hope left of finding out what exactly happened to Gabby Petito.
