Fauci: Every Sport Might Be Canceled for the Rest of the Year — ‘We May Have to Go Without’

No NBA, NFL, MLB, MLS, NCAA, UFC, Boxing, Golf, NASCAR, Soccer, Tennis – nothing!?

Sports books are not going to love what Dr. Anthony Fauci just said about sporting events in 2020. Sports fans will hate it just as much. Hopefully, it doesn’t come to this.

Here’s the deal, via Washington Examiner:

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading infectious disease expert in the U.S., warned on Wednesday that sporting leagues may not be able to return in 2020 without widespread testing with fast-paced results.

“Safety, for the players and for the fans, trumps everything,” Fauci told the New York Times. “If you can’t guarantee safety, then unfortunately you’re going to have to bite the bullet and say, ‘We may have to go without this sport for this season.’”

On the bright side, it is rumored that Major League Baseball will look to start up on July 4!

Fauci announced on Wednesday that schools should be able to reopen in the fall. That is certainly good news for parents, although a decent amount of children likely aren’t going to be thrilled.

Here’s more COVID-19 randomness, via Twitter…

Fauci also noted that the death toll from COVID-19 is likely to be “less” drastic than originally reported.

If that is the case, will the mainstream media still hammer away at President Trump for responding poorly to the pandemic?

Probably.

From The Daily Wire:

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, delivered a healthy dose of optimism this week when he said that schools should reopen in the fall, and that the COVID-19 death tolls are lower than the original estimation.

“You know, it is unpredictable, but you can get a feel for it if we start talking about the things where the curve goes down,” Fauci said during the Tuesday task force briefing. “How we respond and what kind of a rebound we see or don’t see, I think is going to have a lot of influence probably more immediately on things like summer camps than it does in the fall.”

Fauci continued, “I fully expect – though, I’m humble enough to know that I can’t accurately predict – that by the time we get to the fall that we will have this under control, enough that it certainly will not be the way it is now where people are shutting schools.

He added, “My optimistic side tells me that we’ll be able to renew to a certain extent, but it’s going to be different. Remember now because this is not going to disappear. So we’re going to have to have in place the capability of doing the things that we talk about all the time on this stage, to identify, to isolate, to contact trace – number one. Number two, by that time, we’ll have a better feel with the antibody test about what the actual penetrance of this infection was in society.

Antifa Arrives in Minnesota, Amplifying Nightly Violence

Antifa is very real, no matter what the leftist trolls on social media say.

One of the most inane political arguments today seems to revolve around whether or not Antifa exists. How this is even in question is seriously concerning.  Those who self-identify as members of the group coordinate their appearance to declare their presence, carry flags bearing the Antifa logo, and have no problem organizing their antics online under the name. But, all too often, you’ll find someone on social media taking offense to this, declaring that Antifa is not an organization, but, rather, a culture or lifestyle choice. The reason for this purposeful deception is simple:  It give supporters of Antifa an out when it comes to the violence that they tend to amplify when they arrive to exploit some poor city’s recent troubles.  It give the internet trolls behind the movement a 4th wall to hide behind when things get heated. In the suburbs of Minneapolis this week, the group seemed to have no qualms about letting the world know that they had arrived to make trouble. Members of the violent far-left activist group Antifa identified themselves to a Fox News reporter who was on scene in Brooklyn Center, Minn., ahead of another night of unrest following the police-involved shooting of a motorist on Sunday. Correspondent Mike Tobin joined “The Ingraham Angle” to give the latest from the scene where throngs of protesters and law enforcement faced off following the reportedly accidental shooting death of Daunte Wright, 20, by now-resigned Officer Kimberly Potter. Potter has said she meant to reach for her taser instead of her gun while involved in an altercation with Wright at his car. The agitators left no doubt about their allegiances. Tobin, who was relocating to another part of the town at the time, spoke to Ingraham from inside a vehicle. “I can tell you this. The makeup of…

Riots. Looting. Race-baiting. All part of the new liberal agenda. In other words, these socialists will ball their eyes out until they get want they want. And what they want is no more cops. Or conservatives. And the MSM will continue to egg these radicals on. From 10WBNS: COLUMBUS, Ohio — People protesting the deaths of people by law enforcement officers were able to briefly get inside Columbus Division of Police Headquarters Tuesday night. Members of the group were at Mayme Moore Park earlier in the evening for a vigil and balloon release. Then, a crowd of about 50 demonstrators gathered outside police headquarters and marched around the immediate area. […] Police asked the demonstrators to leave and Fuqua said they pepper-sprayed at least one officer.
