I’ve always wondered just what it must be like to be a postman or delivery driver. Visiting so many houses every day, seeing into people’s lives through a collection of short moments, and seeing what they order online, of course.
But for one faithful FedEx driver, one short visit with a stranger led to an incredible experience that answered her constant prayer for God to use her on her route.
Fox News reports that Amanda Riggan, a South Carolina FedEx driver and founder of “Hungry Heroes,” a charity for veterans and first responders, tearfully shared a profound encounter with a customer in a video Facebook video, which ultimately led to a stunning 11 million views.
After bringing a package to a woman who explained her husband had cancer, Riggans found herself unable to think of anything else as she continued on with her deliveries.
“I drove off, my heart’s pounding. I do probably 20 more stops, and I have to go back,” Riggan shared in a video on Facebook after pulling to the side of the road. “I stopped what I was doing. I went back to that neighborhood. I rang her doorbell…and when she came down the stairs she had tears in eyes. When she saw it was me, she smiled.”Trending:
“She came out on the front porch and squeezed me so tight, this lady I’ve never met,” Riggan said, “and I prayed for her and her family — for her husband.”
Riggan used the heartfelt moment as a chance to share about following God.Advertisement - story continues below
“I pray every day for the Lord to use me,” Riggan said through tears. “When you feel those tugs on your heartstrings, and you feel like you need to do this, stop and do it.”
The Bible calls us to serve the Lord in all we do. You truly never know where He may call you to minister to others and share His love with the world.
Riggan was not only able to pray for and comfort this woman, but she was able to share the inspiring experience with 11 million people.
Don’t hide that light of yours under a basket folks, let it shine!
