Florida Sen. Rick Scott has tested positive for the coronavirus and has stated that he’s currently experiencing mild symptoms. The senator made an announcement about his diagnosis, which came after a series of negative test results, in a statement released Friday morning.

“After several negative tests, I learned I was positive this morning. I am feeling good and experiencing very mild symptoms. I will be working from home in Naples until it is safe for me to return to Washington, D.C. I want to remind everyone to be careful and do the right things to protect yourself and others,”  Scott said.

The senator also encouraged people to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and warned that Thanksgiving will be different in 2020. Channeling some optimism, Scott said the pandemic could “be a thing of the past” by next Thanksgiving.

“Wear a mask,” Scott added. “Social distance. Quarantine if you come in contact with someone positive like I did. As we approach Thanksgiving, we know this holiday will be different this year. But, listen to public health officials and follow their guidance. We will beat this together, but we all have to be responsible. I want to thank all the incredible health care workers who are working around the clock to care for patients and I pray that by next Thanksgiving, COVID-19 will be a thing of the past.”

Scott is the latest senator to test positive for the virus. He, Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Mike Lee of Utah, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, and Rand Paul of Kentucky are others who have tested positive.

As of this writing, COVID-19 has been connected to the deaths of a quarter of a million people here in the United States. Another 11.7 million people have been infected with the virus according to information released by the John Hopkins University coronavirus tracker.

Here’s the deal. We can still treat this virus as something serious, while at the same time accepting that lockdowns, which are disastrous for the economy, are not a viable solution. Plus, they don’t seem to work very well at keeping the infection rate down.

We should quarantine the sick, protect the elderly and those who are high-risk. That means those individuals take extra precautions. Those who are young and healthy need to go about their business and live their lives.

Be sure to pray for the Scott family.

Joe Biden is certainly transforming America… for the worst. This month the U.S. Air Force was pleased to announce that it had held its first drag queen show which the service insisted was necessary for morale and military readiness. The drag queen show was held on June 17 at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, according to Breitbart News. Per Breitbart: Nellis Air Force Base and the 99th Air Base Wing hosted its first-ever drag show Thursday, June 17, at the Nellis Club. The event was sponsored by a private organization and provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the history and significance of drag performance art within the LGBT+ community. Ensuring our ranks reflect and are inclusive of the American people is essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military. Nellis Air Force Base is committed to providing and championing an environment that is characterized by equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. Breitbart added: The drag queen show came to light after Air Force veteran podcaster “BK” posted a digital flyer for the event that read: “DRAG-U-NELLIS” and “CLASS IS IN SESSION.” “Discover the significance of Drag in the LGBT+ Community at the Nellis Club,” it said. It was scheduled for Friday, June 17, at 5 p.m. and “Sponsored by the Nellis Top 3.” https://twitter.com/BravoKiloActual/status/1405917447010492418 Nellis Air Force Base is home to the Warfare Center where pilots undergo the most demanding advanced air combat training in the country. “The crews do not come to learn how to fly, but instead how to be the best combat aviators in the world,” the base’s website says. No wonder the whole world is starting to laugh at the U.S. military. Follow Warner Todd Huston on Facebook at: facebook.com/Warner.Todd.Huston.
