GOP Governor Goes Off! Takes Ugly Swipe at Donald Trump's 2024 Run
With each passing day, it appears as though Donald Trump is inching closer to letting the cat out of the bag in terms of his 2024 plans, and not everyone within the Republican Party is thrilled with what they’re hearing.
Trump is almost certainly going to be running for President again. First and foremost, his innate demeanor is going to drive him to give it another go, having been ousted in such dramatic fashion in 2020. But then, more importantly, he still has more power over the base than any other Republican public figure. Period. Were he to step aside, there would be a rather distinct drop in enthusiasm within the GOP.
But there are some on the right side of the aisle who aren’t on-board with a Trump 2024 ticket, and they’re beginning to grow louder by the week.
Republican Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson declared Saturday that former President Donald Trump is not “the one” to represent the party going into the 2024 presidential election.
Hutchinson, chairman of the National Governors Association (NGA), told Business Insider on the sidelines of the NGA Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C., that he doesn’t believe Trump deserves a second shot at running the country.
Hutchinson was rather forceful in his statement.
“I do not believe Trump is the one to lead our party and our country again, as president,” Hutchinson said.

Asked who should lead instead, Hutchinson said, “that’s what the election is all about,” Insider reported.
“And, you know, the Republican Party has many different voices,” he added. “And it’s important in this time to have those voices and they should be concentrating on this election cycle.”
Hutchinson may soon incur the wrath of Trump over the comments, with the former President showing little patience for those within the GOP who cast doubt on his political aspirations.
