There isn’t a typo in that headline. You are reading it correctly. Deborah Frank Feinen is the mayor of Champaign, Illinois. She is also a Republican.

But what Feinen did on Friday will have a lot of conservatives scratching their heads. From Washington Examiner:

The mayor of Champaign, Illinois, gave herself the power to ban the sale of guns and alcohol after declaring a citywide emergency to address the coronavirus.

Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen signed the executive order on Thursday declaring a state of emergency for the city. That executive order, which is in line with municipal code, comes with extraordinary powers for the mayor to enact over a short period of time as the city combats the spread of the coronavirus.

Among the powers Feinen gained after signing the executive order was the power to ban the sale of guns, ammunition, alcohol, and gasoline. Feinen could also cut off access to individuals’ gas, water, or electricity. The city also has the ability to “take possession of private property” or order the temporary closing of all bars or liquor stores.

According to the former 2020 Democrat frontrunner and soon-to-be three-time failed presidential candidate Joe Biden, his statement is accurate.

150 million people, all dead – from guns, since 2017.

The guy also said he’s coming after gun manufacturers if he’s elected. So, you’re safe, gun manufacturers.

REACTIONS:

Did Joe mean to say 1.5 million? Still a lot, obviously, but not even sorta kinda close to 150 million.

A black man brutally beat an elderly Mexican-American woman on an L.A. bus reportedly because he thought she was an Asian woman. A 70-year-old woman of Mexican heritage was riding on an L.A. bus last week when, according to police, 23-year-old Yasmine Beasley attacked her. The victim’s family says that the attacker yelled an Asian slur at her as he attacked. “The victim’s son reportedly says that a female passenger, described as ‘black,’ called his mother an anti-Asian slur and then attacked her,” according to a report by KTLA. The woman’s family says that the man beat her in the face, severely hurt her lag, and pulled out some of her hair. Photos of the woman shows her face is heavily bruised. Per the station: The Mexican American victim was profiled as Asian by her attacker, who hurled a racial epithet used against people of Chinese descent before attacking the grandmother as she got off the bus to go grocery shopping, according to the son, who gave his name only as Pete. Beasley was charged with felony battery charges. Police reports show that Beasley is being held on a $130,000 bond and is due in court on Friday. A Perfect Example How the Media Lies to Push a Left-Wing Agenda

Venture capitalist and novelist J.D. Vance has the perfect example of how the biased media lies to push their left-wing agenda.

Venture capitalist and novelist J.D. Vance has the perfect example of how the biased media lies to push their left-wing agenda. Vance, who wrote the popular book Hillbilly Elegy, reports that he decided to quit the board of directors of Kentucky green energy company AppHarvest. But after he resigned, the left-wing media began pushing the fake news tale that he left the board under a cloud because Bloomberg caused the company to force him out. This claim that he was forced out is a provable lie. But despite the truth, outlets including the Cincinnati Enquirer, The Lexington Herald Leader, The New York Post, Bloomberg and the Associated Press and more all pushed the lie as if it was incontrovertible fact. Bloomberg claimed that Vance was forced out because he posted “controversial tweets” which had prompted the Bloomberg to ask AppHarvest to account for Vance’s tweets. But this is false. Vance did post tweets that leftists would find “controversial,” but they were posted after he left the company. Vance finally went to Twitter to describe how the left-wing media lied about the situation. “Alright, here’s a story about how the media often shapes narratives instead of reporting the truth, and how a small untruth can morph into a lie that’s repeated again and again throughout the media bubble,” Vance wrote Friday on Twitter.
