Republican Congressman Steve Scalise was nearly murdered by a crazed Bernie Sanders-supporting radical not long ago.

He knows a thing or two about fighting for his life.

During a recent interview, the Louisiana Republican discussed abortion.

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) described Democrats’ support for lawful and limitless access to abortion as an endorsement of the “murder” of babies in a Monday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

Scalise: “This is something that I think Americans across the board, no matter where you stand on the issue of abortion, people recognize that if a baby is born alive, if a baby literally survives an abortion [and] is born alive, they can still in many states kill the baby.

Scalise recalled Democrats’ applause in the New York State Legislature following passage of the Empire State’s latest abortion legislation. He also noted Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D-NY) support for the new law.

Scalise: “You heard this. The governor in New York was bragging, they were applauding when he signed this disgraceful law. It’s barbaric, but it’s murder, where literally if the baby is born alive they can still murder the baby, and in New York it’s legal.

Scalise: “And of course in Virginia you saw the governor, he was talking about how you can do it. Talk about a barbaric conversation, he was on the radio show talking about how you can, while the baby is born and the parents can go and have a conversation about how they can then go and then kill the baby.

Scalise: “I was shocked, and I literally had to go back to my staff and say, ‘Wait, explain to me how it’s legal to kill a baby, a person who’s born legally.’ And yet it is in probably 24 states. Even people who are pro-choice, most of them believe that the baby — if it’s born alive — should be protected under law.

Scalise: “It’s not only barbaric, it’s murder. If the baby is born alive, it’s murder and it should be murder. We’re going to vote to give it that protection. I talked to President Trump about this over the weekend. The president is strongly supportive of what we’re trying to do to protect life.

LISTEN:

Back in October 2018, CNN’s Don Lemon said he doesn’t “see Democrats killing people,” ignoring the many cases of violence committed at the hands of lefties.

From Daily Wire:

CNN host Don Lemon made sure to impose his overtly partisan view of the horrific mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue and the series of package bombs sent by a lunatic in Florida during a panel discussion on CNN Monday night. From Lemon’s perspective, the group to blame for the violence is, of course, Republicans and the right-wing media because, he suggested, Democrats don’t commit such violence. Actually, he didn’t just suggest it, he outright said it before being called out on his own show.

In response to conservative commentator Mike Shields pointing out that Republican Rep. Steve Scalise was grievously wounded by a left-wing mass shooter, who repeatedly screamed “This is for health care!” as he opened fire on a Republican congressional baseball practice, Lemon blasted Shields for what he said was an unfair comparison.

Scalise had one tweet that should have him thinking things over.

Here’s a story you don’t see all the time…or ever. Then again, this is the year 2020 – anything goes. If you’re a history buff, here’s your break from politics for a few minutes. Check this out, via News & Observer: The historic Cape Hatteras Light Station grounds were closed Thursday after a bomb appeared in the surf at Buxton on the Outer Banks, according to the National Park Service. A half-mile safety perimeter was established to keep tourists out, including the lighthouse grounds, nearby parking lots and surrounding beach, officials said in a release. The iconic lighthouse, with its famous black and white stripes, dates to 1870. “After careful examination, a U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit from Norfolk, Virginia, confirmed that the object … is a live military ordnance,” the National Park Service said in an update Thursday night. Trump Was A Longtime Presbyterian, Now He Says He Is Non-Denominational Christian

Doin’ things his way…

From New York Post: President Trump, who has long identified as a Presbyterian, now considers himself a non-denominational Christian, a new report said. The president shared his change in religious identity in a written interview with the Religious News Service. “Though I was confirmed at a Presbyterian church as a child, I now consider myself to be a non-denominational Christian,” Trump wrote, without giving an explanation for the transformation or saying when it occurred. Because everything is so PC and everybody is afraid of saying the wrong thing, free speech is at an all-time low. People are getting fired from their jobs, even expelled from school. At the end of the day, this proves that the left is winning. And it has to stop.
