Gov’t Funding Deal Reportedly Reached, with SOME Border Wall Included

Not everyone is loving the deal, however…just ask Sean Hannity.

government shutdown

During the last few months, we as Americans experienced some extraordinary pieces of history.

For instance, we endured the longest government shutdown in the history of our mighty nation, ended only by President Donald Trump’s desire to put 800,000 Americans back to work.  That compromise bought the nation 21 days to reach a budget/border deal – a deadline that arrives again on Friday.

With Congress frantically scrambling to make some sort of deal happen, President Trump has been incredibly insistent upon the need for a border wall within this legislation.  If he doesn’t get it, he has hinted at using a National Emergency declaration to get it built.

New reports out of Washington DC today show hope of a budget deal having been reached, but with only a paltry portion of border wall included.

Three people familiar with Congress’ tentative border security deal tell The Associated Press that the accord would provide $1.375 billion to build 55 miles of new border barriers.

That’s well below the $5.7 billion President Donald Trump demanded to build over 200 miles of wall along the Mexican boundary. The money will be for vertical steel slats called bollards, not a solid wall.

Democrats dropped their proposal to limit the number of detained immigrants caught inside the U.S. to a daily average of 16,500. Republicans opposed that demand. There is currently no such limit.

Bargainers agreed to fund 40,520 beds to detain immigrants entering or in the U.S. illegally. That’s the same number funded last year, though the actual figure held is around 49,000.

The sources described details of the still-secret agreement only on condition of anonymity.

Television host Sean Hannity has already implored the GOP to reject the deal on the basis of the horribly light border security provided by it.

“By the way, on this new so-called compromise, getting details — $1.3 billion,” he said. “That’s not even a wall, a barrier? I’m going to tell this tonight, and we will get back into this tomorrow — any Republican that supports this garbage compromise, you will have to explain. Look at this crowd. Look at the country. Look at CBS News. Even they say 72 percent of the American people want the heroin to stop, the cartels to stop, the gang members to stop and those that wish us ill.”

The President still has several options left before Friday, and we expect to hear quite a bit of jawing about it in the coming hours.

Ilhan Omar’s Housing Plan Costs $1 Trillion; Includes Provisions For Undocumented Immigrants

Published

Controversial Congresswoman Ilhan Omar announced her affordable housing program, which will cost $1 trillion, revealing that it includes provisions for illegal immigrants. Omar revealed the “Homes for All Act” on Thursday, which would go hand-in-hand with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal by creating 12 million housing units by ensuring they were all built to the highest environmental standards. Here’s more from The Washington Examiner: In her announcement, Omar, 38, explained that her affordable housing plan would ensure that no one is denied access to public housing, no matter their gender identity, race, sexuality, or immigration status. https://twitter.com/Ilhan/status/1197515008982310912 “We will prohibit any discrimination against residents based on sexual orientation, gender, criminal history or immigration status,” Omar explained, later adding, “Doing the Homes for All really gets us closer to having the America I imagined be realized and I’m really excited for the opportunity to now be in a position of influence to get that done.” This would break from the Trump administration’s affordable housing policies. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson announced in May that undocumented families would be denied taxpayer-funded housing in order to make room for citizens in need of public housing. Omar, who first arrived in America at the age of 12 as a refugee, has noted that the sight of folks living on the streets had a profound impact when she came to this country. Ever since, she has vowed to fight for making housing a human right. https://twitter.com/IlhanMN/status/1197530827741110272 Omar did not provide any information on how the program would be funded.

DNA Test Results Reveal Hunter Biden Is Father Of Arkansas Woman’s Child

Published

on

DNA tests results have “established with scientific certainty” that Hunter Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden, is the father of an Arkansas woman’s baby. The woman filed a motion on Wednesday concerning the DNA results. The filing says Biden is “not expected to challenge the results of the DNA test or the testing process.” Here’s more from CNN: Hunter Biden had denied in a previous court filing that he had fathered the child, but agreed in October to a paternity test. Neither Joe Biden’s campaign nor an attorney for Hunter Biden immediately responded to requests for comment. It’s the latest development to thrust the former vice president’s son into the spotlight as Joe Biden seeks the Democratic 2020 presidential nomination. The news came just hours before 10 Democratic contenders met in Atlanta for a debate. Hunter Biden has been the subject of scrutiny in recent months over his business dealings in Ukraine. President Donald Trump’s efforts to convince Ukraine’s President to investigate the company that had reportedly paid Biden as much as $50,000 per month to sit on its board is the subject of the House’s impeachment probe. There is no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of either Biden in Ukraine. Lunden Alexis Roberts, 28, filed the lawsuit back in May asking for child support and health care for the baby, who was born in August of 2018. Roberts’ legal team’s latest filings say that Biden’s family members are eligible for protection by the Secret Service. Roberts petitioned the court to seal any information concerning the identity of the child.
