Hillary's Response to EU Migration is Hypocritical...At Best
As we approach the outer fringes of the 2020 election cycle, it is particularly interesting to observe how some of the usual suspects are behaving.
Sure, we have our fairly certain contenders over on the left. Rep. Eric Swalwell has all but confirmed his intentions, and the democrats would be remiss if they didn’t at least try to bring Kamala Harris into the mix. Michelle Obama and Oprah are both off in the wings as well.
And, believe it or not, there is a very real possibility that Hillary Clinton could again attempt to subvert our democracy for a chance at the Oval Office.
So it should come as no surprise to us that Clinton is ramping up her soundbite machine in preparation, hoping to land a few quips in the headlines to test the waters.
Someone ought to throw her a life vest.
Hillary Clinton has issued frank advice to European leaders: If you want to stop the rise of rightwing populists then get a handle on your immigration crisis.
Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, said during an interview with The Guardian that the one million migrants and refugees that have flooded into the European Union since 2015 have thrust immigration into the spotlight and fueled the rise of hardline leaders around the globe. And while she praised German chancellor Angela Merkel for her compassion, she cautioned that countries can’t leave the door open forever.

Clinton added: “I admire the very generous and compassionate approaches that were taken particularly by leaders like Angela Merkel, but I think it is fair to say Europe has done its part, and must send a very clear message – ‘we are not going to be able to continue provide refuge and support’ – because if we don’t deal with the migration issue it will continue to roil the body politic.”
This advice seems to fly in the face of her intentions for the United States, given her contentious battles with then-candidate Donald Trump over immigration in the 2016 election.
Should Hillary decide to slither to a podium and announce her candidacy anytime soon, she will certainly be faced with the prospect of explaining this hypocrisy.
