Hollywood Vixen Now Hinting at a 2020 Run for The White House?

Certainly, the election of Donald Trump to the highest office in American politics was a game changer, likely in every sense of the word.

Not only was Trump the first President with both no military experience and no previous political experience, but he had been mostly a pop figure icon with a business background to many Americans.  They remembered him as a living trope who was spoofed on television, appeared as a NYC-centric cameo in several movies set in The Big Apple, and then starred in a reality TV show.

Today, he’s a President who even under the constant “resistance” shellacking that he’s taking, has achieved a fairly substantial amount of his agenda in just two years.

The big question for the future remains, however:  Is Trump an anomaly, or has his presidency added a patch to the quilt of how a President can be elected?

At least one of Hollywood’s leading ladies seems to think so.

Actress and human rights advocate Angelina Jolie has refused to rule out a political career and hinted a run for U.S. president in 2020 is not beyond the realms of possibility.

Speaking during an interview on the BBC’s Today program in London, Jolie said she would have dismissed any thought of political ambition 20 years ago but would now go where she felt she was needed.

The 43-year-old, who is a special envoy to the U.N. Refugee Agency, was the guest editor of the show on Friday when she made the revelation.

When asked whether she would consider getting involved in politics, she said: “If you asked me 20 years ago, I would’ve laughed… I always say I’ll go where I’m needed, I don’t know if I’m fit for politics… but then I’ve also joked that I don’t know if I have a skeleton left in my closet”.

“I’m also able to work with governments and I’m also able to work with militaries, and so I sit in a very interesting place of being able to get a lot done.”

Jolie is no fan of President Trump, of course, having taken several opportunities to lambast the Commander in Chief over the course of his unprecedented presidency.
