Homeland Security Head Makes It Clear: No Plans for Nationwide Quarantine At This Time
President Trump has said he doesn’t think things will get so bad that he’ll have to enforce a nationwide “shelter-in-place” order. Then, rumors started spreading that it would happen.
But on Sunday afternoon, the head of the DHS calmed some nerves – for now.
From Daily Caller:
Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said Sunday that there would be no countrywide lockdown order over the coronavirus pandemic — at least not at this time.
During a Sunday morning appearance on Fox Business, Wolf spoke about the Trump administration’s actions to curb the spread of COVID-19. While a number of hard hit states have executed lockdown orders, such as California and New Jersey, the White House does not yet think it’s necessary to put the entire U.S. under a lockdown.
Wolf noted, “The president and the vice president and the task force, have been very aggressive and very forward leaning in the number of guidance and number of information to the American public. We have 15 days to slow the spread, so there’s a number of measures we’re asking the American public to take.“
