Ihan Omar Retweets Post Shaming Anti-Iranian Journalist, She Fires Back With 10-Post Tirade
And the winner…is not Omar….

Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN) tries really hard to convince the uninformed that she is pro-American. The problem is that those people believe she has America’s best interests at heart. Look at the facts, people. She doesn’t.
Omar loves America like Ohio State fans love Michigan fans. Omar loves America like Red Sox fans love Yankees fans. Omar loves America like Ocasio-Cortez loves America, okay? The proof is in the pudding.
Here’s just the latest example of Omar showing her loyalty to foreign powers over America…

Ilhan Omar (D-MN) promoted an article attempting to smear famed journalist Masih Alinejad, an outspoken opponent of the theocratic and despotic Iranian regime. That prompted a withering ten-tweet blast from Alinejad, who pointed out Omar’s silence while others were suffering at the hands of the Iranian regime.
Omar’s tweet:

Aaaaaannnnnnnddddd reactions……….
Masih Alinejad is receiving death threats. Rape threats. Her brother's being held hostage by the IRGC.
Is it suspicious to work for VOA? Negar Mortazavi (the Rania Khalek for Iran) who you support worked for VOA.
How could you ever explain this tweet, Ilhan? My heart's crying pic.twitter.com/jfgjW4zici
— Maryam Nayeb Yazdi (@maryamnayebyazd) January 7, 2020
This piece is a defamatory hit job against @AlinejadMasih, a journalist who is already facing death and rape threats and whose brother has been taken hostage by the IRI to silence her. Why is a member of U.S. Congress — a female member at that — endorsing it?

MPORTANT THREAD ⬇️⬇️⬇️
1-Earlier this week, Rep Ilhan Omar shared a defamatory article about me on social media by a Koch-Brothers funded “think tank” co-founded by a known sympathizer of the Iranian regime.
Here's my response to @IlhanMN pic.twitter.com/t7iiEgJvAx
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
2-Ilhan Omar, when my innocent brother was recently taken hostage by the regime, solely due to my advocacy of civil rights for Iran, I reached out to you, expecting solidarity from you. However, you were silent. You gave no reaction.
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
3- When women like Saba Kordafshari, Yasaman Aryani, Monireh Arabshahi and Mojgan Keshavarz were arrested for protesting against compulsory hijab in Iran and were sentenced to a total of 95 years in prison, you were silent.
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
4-When my 70-year-old mother was interrogated for my activities by the Revolutionary Guards, I asked for your help, but you were silent yet again.
You're silent even now as 176 people have been killed onboard a Ukraine Airlines plane under suspicious circumstances in Iran.
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
5- After months of silence, you instead chose to amplify a smear campaign against me, a fellow woman of color. Your only comments to all these human rights abuses is to repeat Islamic Republic propaganda against me.
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
6- As a journalist, I am an independent contractor for a number of media outlets, including the Persian-language service of Voice of America, which was created to counter the propaganda of authoritarian adversaries like the Soviet Union.
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
7-This was evident to all who know my work, including millions of voiceless Iranians. Is this what you’re bullying me for?
By bullying a freelance journalist like me, you are empowering the Revolutionary Guards to put more pressure on my family.
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
8-Those of us who hail from countries ruled by tyrants are capable of denouncing both the cruel policies of Trump & dictators in our native lands. I've openly condemned Trump’s travel ban—which separated me from my son in the UK—and his threats of attacking cultural sites in Iran
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
9- I’ve also condemned the Islamic Republic's ban on Iranian dissidents that prevented people like me from going home. I have loudly protested a potential war against Iran years before you entered the Congress.
— Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 10, 2020
10-Yet, when I divulge the repression of the Islamic Republic, attacks against me proliferate by the regime & their supporters in the West. I'd have never imagined that one day a member of Congress, a fellow woman of colour, would join with my oppressors in trying to defame me

Charges Announced in the Death of Daunte Wright
The charges may not appease protesters, however.

As Minneapolis and her suburbs contuse to grapple with violence and looting in the aftermath of the death of Daunte Wright, officials on Wednesday announced charges against the officer involved in the case. Wright was shot and killed several days ago in an incident that was described as “accidental” by the police chief of Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis where, coincidentally, the trial of Derek Chauvin, the police officer involved in the death of George Floyd, is currently ongoing. Now it appears as though another trial will be coming to the greater Minneapolis area in the coming months. Local prosecutors in Minnesota on Wednesday are expected to charge former Brooklyn Center Police Officer Kim Potter with second-degree manslaughter in the death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright, as civil unrest has persisted for three consecutive nights, with demonstrations spilling into Minneapolis. Washington County Attorney Pete Orput is expected to announce the second-degree manslaughter charge later Wednesday. Orput did not immediately return a voicemail left by Fox News on Wednesday. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, according to The Associated Press. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune, KSTP and Minnesota Public Radio all reported Orput’s expected charging announcement. Potter is believed to have been reaching for her taser when she accidentally brandished her service pistol instead, striking and killing Wright with one projectile, while expressing her disbelief as seen and heard on body cam footage.

Despite Travel Warning, MI Health Official Visits Popular Spring Break Spot
And it’s not the first time that Michigan officials have been caught flouting their own guidance.

While we may be nearing the end, or at least the beginning of the end of the coronavirus pandemic, there are still some pockets of the nation where trouble remains high. Michigan just happens to be one of those places. This, despite the draconian lockdowns imposed by controversial Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who has been the target of a number of harsh criticisms over her handling of the pandemic. Now, in what some seem to believe could be a brazen flouting of their own advice, one top health official in the state has jetted off to a popular spring break destination while Michigan itself remains under a travel advisory. Michigan’s new health director traveled to Alabama last week shortly after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer discouraged residents from traveling as the state leads the nation in the highest number of new coronavirus cases, a local news service first reported this week. Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Elizabeth Hertel was in Gulf Shores, Ala., according to the Michigan Information & Research Service. Gulf Shores is a popular resort destination along the Gulf of Mexico. A DHHS spokesperson told Fox News the agency does not “discuss the director’s personal schedule.” The locals were not amused. “The sheer brazenness of Gov. Whitmer and her staff is truly something else,” Michigan GOP spokesman Ted Goodman told Fox News. “The fact that our Governor and her top staff think it’s appropriate to travel out of state on vacation as Michigan faces the worst COVID numbers of any state in the country just reveals the arrogance and condescending nature of this administration. Whitmer’s position on the draconian lockdown orders is simple — rules for thee, but not for me.” This isn’t the first time that Michigan officials have been caught ignoring their own advice, with Governor Whitmer’s…
