In a stunning discovery among President Reagan’s personal effects, a journalist has shared a letter the late President wrote to his father-in-law on his deathbed that would make Ray Comfort proud.

Reagan, knowing that his father-in-law Dr. Loyal Davis was an atheist who had openly denounced the virgin birth, the resurrection, and heaven and hell, wrote to the dying man to implore he reconsider the eternal repercussions of rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ.

The four-page letter was discovered by Karen Tumulty of The Washington Post in her research for a biography on Nancy Reagan. She posted it in its entirety in the Post, which we have shared below:

Dear Loyal,

I hope you’ll forgive me for this, but I’ve been wanting to write you ever since we talked on the phone. I am aware of the strain you are under and believe with all my heart there is help for that.

First I want to tell you of a personal experience I’ve kept to myself for a long time. During my first year as Governor you’ll recall the situation I found in Calif. was almost as bad as the one in Wash. today. It seemed as if the problems were endless and insolvable.

Then I found myself with an ulcer. In all those years at Warner Bros., no one had been able to give me an ulcer and I felt ashamed as if it were a sign of weakness on my part. John Sharpe had me on Malox and I lived with a constant pain that ranged from discomfort to extremely sharp attacks.

This went on for months. I had a bottle of Maalox in my desk, my briefcase and of course at home. Then one morning I got up, went into the bathroom, reached for the bottle as always and some thing happened. I knew I didn’t need it. I had gone to bed with the usual pain the night before but I knew that morning I was healed. The Malox went back on the shelf.

That morning when I arrived at the office Helene brought me my mail. The first letter I opened was from a lady — a stranger — in the Southern part of the state. She had written to tell me she was one of a group who met every day to pray for me. Believe it or not, the second letter was from a man, again a stranger, in the other end of the state telling me he was part of a group that met weekly to pray for me.

Within the hour a young fellow from the legal staff came into my office on some routine matter. On the way out he paused in the door and said: “Gov. I think maybe you’d like to know — some of us on the staff come in early every morning and get together to pray for you.”

Coincidence? I don’t think so. A couple of weeks later Nancy and I went down to L.A. and had our annual checkup. John Sharpe, a little puzzled, told me I no longer had an ulcer but added there was no indication I’d ever had one. Word of honor — I never told him about that particular day in Sacramento.

There is a line in the bible — “Where ever two or more are gathered in my name there will I be also.”

Loyal I know of your feeling — your doubt but could I just impose on you a little longer? Some seven hundred years before the birth of Christ the ancient Jewish prophets predicted the coming of a Messiah. They said he would be born in a lowly place, would proclaim himself the Son of God and would be put to death for saying that.

All in all there were a total of one hundred and twenty three specific prophesys about his life all of which came true. Crucifixion was unknown in those times, yet it was foretold that he would be nailed to a cross of wood. And one of the predictions was that he would be born of a Virgin.

Now I know that is probably the hardest for you as a Dr. to accept. The only answer that can be given is — a miracle. But Loyal I don’t find that as great a miracle as the actual history of his life. Either he was who he said he was or he was the greatest faker & charlatan who ever lived. But would a liar & faker suffer the death he did when all he had to do to save himself was admit he’d been lying?

The miracle is that a young man of 30 yrs. without credentials as a scholar or priest began preaching on street corners. He owned nothing but the clothes on his back & he didn’t travel beyond a circle less than one hundred miles across. He did this for only 3 years and then was executed as a common criminal.

But for two thousand years he has … had more impact on the world than all the teachers, scientists, emperors, generals and admirals who ever lived, all put together.

The apostle John said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever believed in him would not perish but have everlasting life.”

We have been promised that all we have to do is ask God in Jesus name to help when we have done all we can — when we’ve come to the end of our strength and abilities and we’ll have that help. We only have to trust and have faith in his infinite goodness and mercy.

Loyal, you and Edith have known a great love — more than many have been permitted to know. That love will not end with the end of this life. We’ve been promised this is only a part of life and that a greater life, a greater glory awaits us. It awaits you together one day and all that is required is that you believe and tell God you put yourself in his hands.

Love
Ronnie

As Tumulty writes in her column, “The most powerful man in the world put everything else aside, took pen in hand and set out on an urgent mission — to rescue one soul.”

Is this not our highest calling as Christians, to declare the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ to the whole world? No matter what our earthly responsibilities may be, our eternal responsibilities are infinitely more significant.

If the leader of the free world can take time to put his temporal duties aside to make a plea for the spiritual to a dying man, we can all make more time in our lives for daily evangelism.

The Amazing Archeological Discovery that Could Verify the Jews’ Biblical Exit from Egypt

An archaeologist in Egypt now says he found Mount Sinai, the mountain that Moses and the Jews stopped at after the Exodus.

An archaeologist in Egypt now says he has finally found Mount Sinai, the mountain that Moses and the Jews stopped at after escaping enslavement by the Egyptians. The discovery could prove the Biblical tale of the Exodus of the Jews escaping Egypt, crossing the red sea where the Pharaoh’s pursuing army was drowned.

One problem with the tale of the Exodus is that archaeologists have not been able to find Mount Sinai. But now The Doubting Thomas Research Foundation claims that researchers were looking in the wrong place the whole time.

“But in actuality, the society now claims, Mount Sinai, one of the most sacred places in the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions, is Jabal Maqla, which lies in the Jabal al-Lawz mountain range in northwestern Saudi Arabia,” the New York Post reported.

“One of the main reasons certain scholars claim that the Exodus is a myth is because little to no evidence for what the Bible records has been found at the traditional Mount Sinai in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula,” Foundation president Ryan Mauro, told the media.

But what if these scholars have actually been looking in the wrong spot?” he added. “Move over into the Arabian peninsula and you find incredibly compelling evidence matching the Biblical account.”

Per the Post:

Jabal Maqla, has blackened peaks as if scorched by the sun or fire, and lies near Nuweiba Beach, where scientists have found land paths underneath the water, where God would have parted the waters for Moses and the Israelites.

Though they were followed by Egyptians in chariots, when the Israelites reached land on the other side of the water, the sea consumed the Egyptians. A chariot-like shape was found in coral in the area, according to Swedish scientist Dr. Lennart Moller, who noted to the outlet that the metal and wood had long ago disintegrated.

On the way from the Beach to the possible Mt. Sinai is a large, split rock with signs of water erosion, despite being in the midst of a desert.

“We believe this distinct landmark could be the rock that God commanded Moses to strike which water then gushed forth from miraculously providing for the Israelite population,” Mauro said.

If Mauro’s claims are confirmed, this would be a major confirmation of the Biblical story of the Jews’ exodus from bondage in Egypt.

America’s Payday – Has the Law of Reciprocation Finally Come Knocking

The God who formed the stars and placed the earth here to be both our home and his proving grounds, is not powerless, late, confused, or indifferent.

One of the most famous sermons in U.S. history came from Southern Baptist preacher, Rev R. G. Lee, and was titled “Payday Someday.” Unfortunately, it was a sermon delivered before the advent of modern media, but someone has managed to preserve a rough copy of it on YouTube.

It is a sermon based on the principles of the God given laws of reciprocation, otherwise referred to as “reaping what you sow.”

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Gal 6:7)

It has many other names such as, cause and effect, karma or making your bed. But by any other name it still only means one thing, you, me, all of us will get back what we put out.

The folly and self-indulgence with which we enter-into our mistakes, will be like a vapor dissolved in the heat of the day by the time the payday arrives.

In his great sermon R. G. Lee included this rhyme by Paul Lawrence Dunbar – it says it all.

This is the price I pay —
Just for one riotous day —
Years of regret and of grief,
And sorrow without relief.
Suffer it I will, my friend,
Suffer it until the end,
Until the grave shall give relief.
Small was the thing I bought,
Small was the thing at best,
Small was the debt, I thought,
But, O God! — the interest.

Ignoring the laws of reciprocation is one mistake, but a far more serious error is to think that it only applies to individuals. Most assuredly, it includes every size group, from few people to an entire nation.

Has America’s time for some pay back finally arrived? Is this only a question asked by prophets and preachers, or is it time for educators, historians, media, and governance to seriously ponder?

All great nations of history had this one thing in common, none of them would heed those who gave them warning.

It matters little who exactly is giving the warning, but it cannot be overstated we can only ignore these warnings at our own peril.

What exactly has our nation been “sowing” – what should we expect to see for the full crop. What have we accepted as part of everyday life, that will soon cost us everything up to our very nationhood?

Apostasy among believers who will not live for their Lord, and there is little doubt they would die for him.

Continuing abortions at the rate of almost 4000 per day. Ignoring the ocean of innocent blood wasted, and the organs and body parts bartered and sold so much meat at the market.

Child and human trafficking which hides and muffles the screams of the exploited under a cloak of secrecy and abuse.

The perversion of homosexuality, given credence by the media, accepted by the crowds, and practiced by fools who will not heed the clearest warning of scripture, that they will be eternally lost in the final day. We are told Sodom was only a city, but the next Sodom will be an entire nation.

The deep perversion, torture, contortion, and obvious offence against nature that we glibly refer to as “transgenderism.” With or without acceptance, a trans-bathroom, and the power to use hormones and surgical knives – it will bring judgement to this nation – swiftly and severely.

Wasting the pliable minds of our youth, by infusing them with critical race theory, socialism, failed Marxism and BLM extremes. And we call this misguidance – education!

The greatest mistake of our nation is the belief that since no one has stopped us, we can pretty much go on forever. But there is a payday someday. Being dumbed down by delay will hardly be an excuse.

“Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” (Ec 8:11)

Fast forward to the present – this is where we find ourselves longing for the past.

Now, we have a fake president in Biden and the humiliation of our nation by his policies in Afghanistan, the southern border and law enforcement. Not only did Biden take the Whitehouse through obvious fraud, but he is governing by naps and vacations. Little wonder that his most hated foe once referred to him as – sleepy Joe.

What else could possibly go wrong.

It is here I will raise the same warning I was given some forty years ago. It is so close today that we can almost taste it. What is that warning? Total national economic collapse in which there will be unforeseen and overwhelming poverty and scarcity.

What keeps a demonically inspired generation from seeing a pathway to repentance or a way to turn around? Firstly they think too much time has passed and they think God is no longer going to do anything, if he ever had a mind to in the first place. Secondly, is the idea that God is a syrupy, mushy sort of Santa Claus figure who is far too busy talking with saints and angels.

Finally, is the general belief that we control everything, as masters of our own destiny. But God controls everything down to the very hairs on our heads.

This is the Biblical list of what God controls on this planet.

Rain and drought

Weather

Fires

Pestilence and disease

Wars

Rise and fall of nations

Wealth and poverty

The hearts of kings and rulers

Life and death on earth

The beginning and ending of all things

Eternal damnation

Eternal salvation

The God who formed the stars and placed the earth here to be both our home and his proving grounds, is not powerless, late, confused, or indifferent.

Prophetically speaking, every word of God is true and quite well on schedule.
