Minnesota attorney general candidate Keith Ellison, a former Congressman and current co-chair of the Democrat National Committee, has been accused of domestic abuse by an ex-girlfriend.

If Keith was a Republican, this story would be everywhere.

An independent committee supporting Ellison is funded by none other than the son of George Soros, far-left billionaire.

From Free Beacon:

Alexander Soros, the son of billionaire political activist George Soros, donated $100,000 to an independent expenditure committee intended to support Rep. Keith Ellison’s bid to become attorney general of Minnesota, an amount that represents slightly less than half of all funds raised by the committee.

Although he does not give on the same scale as his father, Alexander Soros is still a significant donor to Democrat and progressive causes. The Washington Free Beacon reported in September that Alex had contributed almost $3 million to Democratic committees this election cycle.

Alex works as the deputy chair of the Open Society Foundations, a grant-making group that describes itself as working “to build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable to their citizens.” The Open Society Foundations, meanwhile, receives the bulk of its funding from George Soros.

The independent expenditure committee, calling itself the People’s Lawyer PAC, has spent the bulk its funds on polling, some of which it has published on its website.

Karen Monahan has a doctor’s note confirming the abuse, but not even that plays a role for some reason (more on that below).

It now appears that Ellison won’t be sailing to victory in Minnesota’s race for attorney general.

From Daily Wire:

Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison is running for Attorney General of Minnesota, but it no longer appears he’ll sail to victory, in part thanks to allegations of domestic abuse that have surfaced in recent weeks.

As Democrats urged Americans to “believe all women” during Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings, they were quietly trying to ignore allegations that Ellison had abused his longtime girlfriend (and possibly his ex-wife).

Continued:

The oversight has led to questions about whether the Democratic Party — and, in particular, Minnesota’s state party — is really interested in fully investigating allegations of sexual assault and “believing all women” who suggest they may have been physically abused.

Last month, The Hill reports, Ellison was running five points ahead of his Republican challenger, Minnesota state Rep. Doug Wardlow. Now, the two are “neck and neck” in pursuit of a seat that has been solidly blue for several decades.

Minneapolis police aren’t even going to look into the claim against Ellison.

From Star Tribune:

The DFL Party’s attempt to find a law enforcement agency willing to investigate a domestic abuse claim against U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison was mired in uncertainty Wednesday, after the Minneapolis Police Department said it would seek to refer the case to another jurisdiction.

Earlier Wednesday, the DFL asked Minneapolis police to investigate after both a city attorney and a county prosecutor declined to review a report the party commissioned that did not substantiate the allegation.

Continued:

Ellison’s former girlfriend, Karen Monahan, alleges that the Democratic candidate for attorney general tried to drag her off a bed during a fight in August 2016. He denies it.

“Due to a conflict of interest, or the appearance of a conflict of interest, the Minneapolis Police Department will not be handling the matter involving Congressman Keith Ellison,” read a police statement. It said the department is in communication with other law enforcement agencies to which it may refer the case. Ellison’s son, Jeremiah Ellison, is a member of the Minneapolis City Council.

Ellison is considering stepping down from his role as deputy chair of the Democrat National Committee.

From Newsmax:

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., said in a new interview he is considering stepping down from his leadership role at the Democratic National Committee as domestic violence allegations cloud his campaign for Minnesota attorney general.

Ellison, the deputy chair of the DNC, told WCCO Radio in Minneapolis that he is innocent of the charges leveled by a former girlfriend and that he’s trying to dedicate all of his time to his constituents in Minnesota.

“I have been thinking about that. I’ve been evaluating that recently so we’ll see,” Ellison said when asked if he’s thinking of resigning from the DNC. “I need to put 100 percent of my time, energy, and resources into the race and into my office, and so that’s something I am taking consideration on.

Is stepping down from his co-chair position enough?

Shouldn’t Ellison abandon his run for AG until a FULL INVESTIGATION can take place – or are those sort of things only reserved for Supreme Court justices?

Ellison’s ex-girlfriend spoke about the domestic abuse in their relationship.

Because of this, Karen Monahan details how the Democrat party, her party, has “smeared, threatened, and isolated” her.

From Daily Caller:

DNC Deputy Chair and Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison has been accused domestic abuse by former girlfriend Karen Monahan. Monahan broke her story earlier in the year, claiming to have video evidence of Ellison physically abusing her and using sexist slurs toward her.

Monahan has been slowly telling her story through Twitter, explaining how Democrats in her state attempted to silence her and “isolate” her. When a follower asked if Democrats believed her claims, Monahan said, “I’ve been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party.”

From Monahan:

Monahan has now produced a revealing doctor’s note. It’s bad news for Ellison, but the Democrat Party and mainstream media literally could not care less.

From Daily Caller:

The ex-girlfriend accusing Democratic Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison of domestic abuse told her doctor in 2017 about alleged “emotional and physical abuse” from Ellison, according to a document the woman published Wednesday.

Karen Monahan’s account in the doctor’s report is consistent with what she has been saying publicly since August: that Ellison was emotionally and physically abusive to her while the two were dating.

[…]

“She states that she was in a very stressful environment for years, emotional and physical abuse by a partner with whom she is now separated,” reads the November 2017 report, a picture of which Monahan posted on Twitter.

“She did not have any physical injuries that required an examination in the past. She identifies the individual she was involved with as congressman Ellison, and she is worried about retribution if she identifies him publicly,” the report states.

Very sad.

Nobody believes this woman’s story simply because the man accused of hitting her is a Democrat.

That’s not right.

If this isn’t a 10/10 for hypocrisy by Democrats, then nothing ever will be. They’ll claim to believe women’s stories of abuse no matter what – just as long as the woman was abused by a Republican.
