Instead Of Abolishing Police, How About Abolishing Abortion And Planned Parenthood? OPINION
Over the last several weeks, we’ve all witnessed our nation being further destroyed and torn apart by individuals who claim to be fighting against racism and police brutality. We’ve watched as these same folks burn businesses to the ground in the name of peace, a message stuffed to the gills with oxymoronic irony that appears to be lost on folks who are trying to justify this behavior on the grounds of the cause we now know as “black lives matter.”
That’s a phrase we’ve heard a lot lately. And you know what? It’s true. Black lives really do matter. Black lives are image bearers of God, which means they have intrinsic value and worth. Black lives are no different than lives of any other color or ethnicity. Adam and Eve are our first parents. Our blood is the same shade of red. Our ancestry is the exact same when you trace it back to the beginning.
We all suffer from the same fallen nature, the same sinful disposition, that has earned us a place under the wrath of God, with our only hope being Jesus Christ and the work He accomplished through His life, death, and resurrection.
Since black lives really do matter, instead of abolishing police departments, we should all be united in a fight against the ultimate destroyer of the black community: Abortion.
Yes, instead of tossing out police departments, we ought to be giving Planned Parenthood the boot. More black lives have been taken at abortion clinics than have ever been killed by evil, twisted police officers.
And that’s not to make light of police brutality. It’s a real thing. It exists. Perhaps we as conservatives have been so gung-ho in the past about blindly supporting police that we’ve ignored that reality. Well, it’s hard to ignore it after what we’ve seen police are capable of doing in light of the coronavirus lockdowns. Plenty of church folk had their rights violated by power hungry cops.
Anyway, while this problem needs to be tackled, if we are to take the BLM movement seriously, then the principles these individuals claim to stand on need to be applied across the board, which means activists should also be standing out in front of Planned Parenthood in every community in this country, demanding the holocaust against black children this organization perpetrates every day be brought to an end.
Here are some stats from the AZ Capitol Times so you get a picture of how many black lives have been snuffed out by abortion:
Abortion impacts African Americans at a higher rate than any other population group. In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released an Abortion Surveillance Report. According to that report, black women make up 14 percent of the childbearing population. Yet, 36 percent of all abortions were obtained by black women. At a ratio of 474 abortions per 1,000 live births, black women have the highest ratio of any group in the country.
When you use those percentages, it indicates that of the over 44 million abortions since the 1973 Roe vs Wade Supreme Court ruling, 19 million black babies were aborted. African Americans are just under 13 percent of United States population.
White women are five times less likely to have an abortion than black women. Perhaps it is a matter of availability. A study by Protecting Black Lives, in 2012, found that 79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of minority communities.
In the past, we criticized the tobacco industry for targeting young people with their advertising. Recently, the nicotine vape industry has been criticized for similar practices. The prevalence of abortion providers in African American and Hispanic neighborhoods indicates the abortion industry is targeting too. It smacks of the eugenics-linked past of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and her views of contraception and abortion as ways of diminishing the black population.
Advertisement - story continues belowThe impacts on our black communities are hard to fathom. According to the Guttmacher Institute, which generally supports abortion, in 2011 360,000 black babies were aborted. CDC statistics for 2011 show that 287,072 black deaths occurred from all other causes excluding abortion. By these numbers, abortion is the leading cause of death among blacks.
Along with all of these statistics is the historic racism that serves as the foundation that Planned Parenthood is built on. It’s founder, Margaret Sanger, was a notorious racist who believed in the application of eugenics as a means of getting rid of blacks altogether.
She believed the best way to accomplish that goal was through the destruction of the black family. Make black fathers not want to stick around and care for their children. Entice free sex with no consequences thanks to abortion. I’m not making any of this up.
Want a taste of Sanger’s hate? Here are some quotes from the woman herself via the Family Research Council:
In a letter to Clarence Gable in 1939, Sanger wrote: “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members” (Margaret Sanger commenting on the ‘Negro Project’ in a letter to Gamble, Dec. 10, 1939).
Her own words and television appearances leave no room for parsing. For example, she wrote many articles about eugenics in the journal she founded in 1917, the Birth Control Review. Her articles included “Some Moral Aspects of Eugenics” (June 1920), “The Eugenic Conscience” (February 1921), “The Purpose of Eugenics” (December 1924), “Birth Control and Positive Eugenics” (July 1925) and “Birth Control: The True Eugenics” (August 1928), to name a few.
The following are some of her more telling quotes:
“While I personally believe in the sterilization of the feeble-minded, the insane and syphilitic, I have not been able to discover that these measures are more than superficial deterrents when applied to the constantly growing stream of the unfit. They are excellent means of meeting a certain phase of the situation, but I believe in regard to these, as in regard to other eugenic means, that they do not go to the bottom of the matter.” (“Birth Control and Racial Betterment,” Feb. 1919, The Birth Control Review).
“Eugenics without birth control seems to us a house builded upon the sands. It is at the mercy of the rising stream of the unfit” (“Birth Control and Racial Betterment,” Feb. 1919, The Birth Control Review).
“Stop our national habit of human waste.” (“Woman and the New Race,” 1920, Chapter 6).
“By all means, there should be no children when either mother or father suffers from such diseases as tuberculosis, gonorrhea, syphilis, cancer, epilepsy, insanity, drunkenness and mental disorders. In the case of the mother, heart disease, kidney trouble and pelvic deformities are also a serious bar to childbearing No more children should be born when the parents, though healthy themselves, find that their children are physically or mentally defective.” (“Woman and the New Race,” 1920, Chapter 7).
The whole point of this organization was to destroy the black community. If there ever was an assault on black lives, it’s the folks behind Planned Parenthood. Notice how most locations for the clinics are in low-income areas in the inner city where a vast majority of black people live?
This is not a coincidence. Not at all.
As stated earlier, black lives matter. Yes, they do.
So much so that if we’re going to seek to preserve and protect those lives, and all other lives, then we have to take on abortion and demand it be abolished. It’s inconsistent and hypocritical to not oppose this evil, vile practice.
For those who are thinking of getting abortions, please reconsider. There are plenty of other options available, such as pregnancy centers and ministries, who will help you out, including folks willing to adopt your child. Don’t give in to the lies being spread that this is your only option for dealing with pregnancy. It’s not.
Those who have already had an abortion, please know that you are not beyond the forgiveness of God. Jesus Christ can and does save people who have had abortions. We all deserve the wrath of God, but through faith in Jesus, we can be forgiven and reconciled to God. Please reach out to a local church or other solid believers you might know in your life. These individuals can help you.
Folks, let’s band together and truly protect black lives by ending the force that is currently wiping them out in record numbers.
