Iran Continues to Bolster Russian Military with Missiles and Drones
The tyrannical regimes of the world certainly seem to be sticking close to one another in 2022, and that surely doesn’t bode well for any hopes we may have had for world peace any time soon.
Russia, who illegally and immorally invaded Ukraine back in February, has been committing literal genocide in the neighboring nation, having resorted to the brutal and unholy tactic after being thoroughly humiliated within the realm of conventional battle.
And, worse still for the Kremlin: They’re running out of equipment.
This is where the authoritarian brotherhood comes to their rescue.
Iran has promised to provide Russia with surface to surface missiles, in addition to more drones, two senior Iranian officials and two Iranian diplomats told Reuters, a move that is likely to infuriate the United States and other Western powers.
A deal was agreed on Oct. 6 when Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, two senior officials from Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards and an official from the Supreme National Security Council visited Moscow for talks with Russia about the delivery of the weapons.
Russia has been targeting Ukrainian infrastructure pieces of late, as winter looms just over the horizon.
“The Russians had asked for more drones and those Iranian ballistic missiles with improved accuracy, particularly the Fateh and Zolfaghar missiles family,” said one of the Iranian diplomats, who was briefed about the trip.
The Kremlin has been able to keep western nations from intervening in the conflict by repeatedly suggesting that they would resort to using nuclear weapons to prevent any such intervention.
