James Comey Ponders President's Culpability AFTER Leaving White House
James Comey has long been a thorn in the side of the President, having cemented his status as a DC swamp denizen during his investigation into Hillary Clinton’s inexcusable use of an unauthorized email server during her time as Secretary of State.
Not only was Comey unwilling to charge Clinton with the obvious crime that she committed, he did so after explicitly explaining to the nation just how egregious the former First Lady’s grievances were.
Comey, who left the FBI in a disgraceful firing, is now piping up in order to disparage Donald Trump, indicating his belief that the President could be charged with several crimes after leaving office.
In a CNN town-hall-style meeting, Mr. Comey was asked by host Anderson Cooper whether Mr. Trumpacted with corrupt intent to interfere with an ongoing investigation.
“It sure looks that way,” Mr. Comey replied, saying he based that judgment on his reading of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report and leaning most heavily on Mr. Trump’s order to White House Counsel Don McGahn to fire Mr. Mueller.
When Mr. Cooper asked the former FBI chief whether he agreed with an open letter from numerous federal prosecutors that Mr. Trump would already have been indicted on obstruction of justice charges if he were not the president, Mr. Comey was emphatic.
“Yes. agree. No doubt,” he told Mr. Cooper.
This has long been the operating assumption of the “resistance”, whose disdain for President Trump has been poisoning the mainstream media’s figurative well for months on end.
