$501 billion.

That’s billion with a “b.”

That’s a decent chunk of change.

It is also the amount a federal judge has ordered North Korea, the hermit kingdom, to pay to the family of Otto Warmbier.

From Daily Wire:

On Friday, North Korea was ordered by a United States federal judge to pay the parents of American student Otto Warmbier $501 million.

North Korea is liable for “the torture, hostage taking, and extrajudicial killing of Otto Warmbier,” said U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia’s Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell’s opinion.

According to The Hill, Howell found Warmbier’s estate to be entitled to $21 million in compensatory damages and $150 million in punitive damages, in addition to Fred and Cindy Warmbier, Otto’s parents, each being entitled to $15 million in compensatory damages and $150 million in punitive damages.

WATCH:

What are the odds North Korea pays up? Next to nil, or less than that?

The chances are obviously minimal.

The brutal treatment Otto received while prisoner in the hermit kingdom are beyond comprehension, and nobody can possibly begin to imagine the ordeal his parents dealt with.

RIP.

North Korea is now saying it won’t denuclearize unless…

California Democrat and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi recently compared then-SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh to Russian President Vlaidmir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.

Nancy Pelosi: The only person who doesn’t have to be vetted is the president. And it is pretty clear that he could not withstand a vetting. And he talks about being in love with Kim Jong Un and thinking Kavanaugh is a great guy, upstanding this or that. I guess there’s a similarity that people have with people they respect – Crazy about Putin! In love with Kim Jong Un! Thinks Kavanaugh is a great upstanding person.

National Security Adviser John Bolton has made an announcement that won’t please Americans who disagree with President Trump.

According to Bolton, Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit the White House sometime in 2019.

Here’s the scoop, via AP News:

Bolton said “we have invited President Putin to Washington after the first of the year for, basically, a full day of consultations.” He said no date has been set yet.

Trump sent Putin a strong message last week by pulling out of the nuclear deal with Russia.

From Daily Wire:

The Trump Administration announced Sunday that they intend to pull out of a nuclear arms treaty, inked with Russia during the Cold War, and accused Moscow of expanding their base of nuclear weapons in violation of the treaty.

Teachers Shot by Police with Air Pistols During Shooter Drill Speak Out

The Sheriff’s Department stood by their decision, however, essentially saying that the teachers were shot with the air pistols because they didn’t act quickly enough, like a dog being smacked with a newspaper.

The idea that we, as Americans, must participate in “active shooter” drills is spooky enough, but one law enforcement agency is taking things too far…and teachers are speaking out. The horror and confusion of an active shooter situation is unfathomable for many of us.  Suddenly, at work or school or the subway, the deafening report of gunfire would be instantaneously confusing and oppressive.  Our fight or flight instincts would kick in, sending us to the floor with the possibility of altered auditory senses.  From there, the terror truly begins as we play out any number of scenarios in our heads. These instances are terrifying and harrowing in ways that only those who have lived through them can understand. Active shooter drills, on the other hand, are meant to be learning experiences.  Sure, some urgency is needed to provide us the opportunity necessary to develop the muscle memory desired, but do we really have to shoot teachers with pellet guns in order to get the point across? That’s what one group of educators is pondering today. An Indiana teachers union is demanding change to active shooter drill protocols after teachers at an elementary school reported that they had been injured when they were shot by Airsoft guns during a recent exercise. “During active shooter drill, four teachers at a time were taken into a room, told to crouch down and were shot execution style with some sort of projectiles — resulting in injuries to the extent that welts appeared, and blood was drawn,” a statement from the Indiana State Teachers Association on Wednesday said. Association members said they were injured during the drill at Monticello’s Meadowlawn Elementary School, according to the statement. The drill was conducted by the White County Sheriff’s Department, which defended the methods it used. White County Sheriff Bill Brooks said…

American Schools Are Failures: Most Americans Don’t Know What Bill of Rights Is

The poll tends to prove that liberals have succeeded in undermining America though the thorough destruction of the quality of our education.

Bill of rights

A new study of Americans finds that few have any idea what freedoms are protected by the first ten amendments of the Constitution nor do they know these amendments are called the Bill of Rights. It just shows that the liberals controlling our system of miseducation have succeeded in undermining this country and that our schools are some of America’s biggest enemies. Our schools are failures at teaching and turning out Americans, certainly. But they are a great success at turning out morons and sheep, and this poll proves it. The poll posted to StudyFinds.com finds that most Americans have some vague idea that our First Amendment rights are under attack, but when asked to detail just what the First Amendment is, most had no idea how to respond. The new poll found that six in ten Americans thought our freedom of speech was under attack. That is a good thing… though it should be ten in ten. But, still, at least a majority understand that the left is attacking our rights. Unfortunately, the study also found that most couldn’t name what rights the First Amendment covers nor could they even say how many Amendments make up the Bill of Rights, nor even say what that name even meant. “Of the 2,000 adults who took part in the poll, half thought that ‘liberty’ is one of the five freedoms protected by the First Amendment, while nearly half (49 percent) believed ‘the pursuit of happiness’ was included,” the poll said. “Thankfully, only 3 percent named ‘life’ as one of the protected freedoms.” I am not sure why the folks at StudyFinds thought it was “thankfully” that only a small percentage thought “life” was in the First Amendment but be that as it may. The poll also found that only 26 percent…
