Kavanaugh Accuser Given Invitation to Testify, Guess What The Answer's Been so Far?
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley has stated that the high-stakes hearing he scheduled for SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh to investigate matters involving an accusation of sexual assault by Christine Blasey Ford could be tossed out if the woman doesn’t accept the invitation that’s been extended to her.
This is just the latest development in this huge mess that’s been unfolding over the last few days, after Ford came forward, 35 years after the incident, to point the finger at Kavanaugh for sexual misdeeds. Kavanaugh himself has vehemently denied the charges and volunteered to cooperate with the committee no matter what they ask for.
Things are certainly not looking good for this lady.
“We have reached out to her in the last 36 hours three or four times by email and we have not heard from them, and it kind of raises the question, do they want to come to the public hearing or not?” Grassley said on The Hugh Hewitt Show.
Asked whether there would be a hearing if Ford did not agree to appear, Grassley suggested he couldn’t see a reason to hold one.
“What would be the purpose of the hearing if Dr. Ford doesn’t want to respond?” Grassley said.
n the case Ford accepts the invitation, Grassley said he is considering the possibility of having an independent questioner ask all the questions to Ford.

She said that Kavanaugh, while in high school, pinned her down, tried to remove her bathing suit and put his hand over her mouth when she attempted to scream. Kavanaugh has denied the allegation.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what the #MeToo Movement looks like when it’s been weaponized for political purposes. And that’s not to say that everyone involved in the movement has fabricated their assault stories.
Far from it.
In fact, the vast majority of women coming forward about abuse and mistreatment are victims who have been denied justice. It’s time to remedy that. As quickly as possible.
However, each of these incidents needs to be taken case-by-case and thoroughly investigated so that decisions aren’t made on the fly that end up costing a person’s career, livelihood, and their family.
The GOP is clearly taking Ford’s accusation seriously, which is why they’re providing her an opportunity to speak up about the incident she alleges happened. Why not take that and expose this guy if he’s really guilty?
There’s definitely something fishy going on here. Let’s hope they get to the bottom of it soon.
