Trending: REPORT: Ruth Bader Ginsburg to Retire This Month, Has Contracted Pneumonia

Partial transcript:

HOST RICK SANCHEZ: You know it’s interesting. As I listen to you I’m thinking that both you and I are old enough to remember that there was a lot of antagonism during the 1960s. There was a lot of antagonism during Watergate. There was certainly antagonism during the Clinton years. But there is something, maybe it’s an undercurrent, that is different now. Can you put your finger on it? What is it?

KING: Two things, Rick — the internet and cable news. Could you imagine cable news in Watergate? And they don’t do news anymore. In fact, RT is one of the few channels doing news. RT does news. CNN stopped doing news a long time ago. They do Trump. Fox is Trump TV and MSNBC is anti-Trump all the time. You don’t see a story — there was vicious winds and storms in the Northeast the other day – not covered on any of the three cable networks, not covered. Not covered! So when CNN started covering Trump — they were the first — they covered every speech he made and then they made Trump the story. So, Trump is the story in America. I would bet that ninety-eight percent of all Americans mention his name at least once a day. And when it’s come to that, when you focus on one man, I know Donald 40 years — I know the good side of Donald and I know the bad side of Donald — I think he would like to be a dictator. I think he would love to be able to just run things. So, he causes a lot of this. Then his fight with the media and fake news. I’ve been in the media a long time, like you — longer than you, Rick. And at all my years at CNN, in my years at Mutual Radio, I have never seen a conversation where a producer said to a host “pitch the story this way. Angle it that way. Don’t tell the truth.” Never saw it. Never saw it.

SANCHEZ: You know it’s funny, just quick because you know these producers are telling me you guys have to start wrapping this up … you said something interesting about how CNN played along with Trump. I think they only played along or at least gave him that much airtime in many ways because they didn’t think he was going to win, correct?

KING: I guess it’s to their regret. But, they covered him as a character. They carried every speech he made. They carried him more than Fox News, at the beginning. And so they built the whole thing up and the Republicans had a lot of candidates and they all had weaknesses. When I saw Senator Cruz hug Donald Trump the other day I said, “this is what America has become.” He said that Cruz’s father helped kill Kennedy!

A former state senator from Ohio and current head of a progressive PAC, Nina Turner took to CNN to bash President Trump for his rhetoric.

This comes in the aftermath of 11 people killed at a Pittsburgh synagogue by a deranged Trump-hating madman named Robert Bowers.

From Mediaite:

As the nation comes to terms with 11 deaths following Saturday’s anti-Semitic shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue, questions are being raised over the influence of President Donald Trump‘s divisive tone. On CNN’s State of the Union the panel was very animated on the topic.

Nina Turner, a former Ohio state senator and current president of progressive PAC Our Revolution, said the Commander-in-chief’s role in fostering a politically charged environment couldn’t be ignored.

According to Turner, Trump “does have to take some responsibility for the type of racist vile climate that we find ourselves in, which, Jake, is not new. This is in the DNA of America, so I’m surprised that people are surprised. What is happening is that what is in our root as a country is bubbling up now, and that’s what people are surprised [by].”

Former Trump campaign strategist David Urban took a somewhat opposing view, arguing the issue was a lack of regulations surrounding speech online, referring to Gab, the social networking site where the synagogue shooter posted hate-filled content before his attack.

Urban added: “That vitriol builds upon vitriol and allows people to think, ‘Well, it’s ok for me to do that. This is kind of like the broken window theory of policing. If we don’t push back on the small broken windows that occur in the internet and that allows bigger crimes to occur like this.”

Turner virtually said the same exact thing back in 2016, also on CNN.

WATCH:

Turner also recently claimed that Democrats need to stop talking down to voters, per The Hill:

Progressive activist and former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner says Democrats could do a better job of reaching rural America, warning that the party still has not learned its lessons from the 2016 presidential election.

[…]

“It just really makes me angry to hear elite-type politicians talk down to anybody, but I especially see that when it comes to our rural communities that just because they believe a certain way or they tend to vote a certain way that they don’t understand what they’re doing,” Turner told Hill.TV “Rising” co-host Krystal Ball during an interview that aired on Friday.

Dems Will Exploit Shutdown in 2020 Bids, According to Cashflow Data

It’s time for the democrats to grow up, own the fact that they are allowing the shutdown to continue, and do their jobs.

We will be arguing with one another over whose fault this government shutdown was for years, thanks to to the divisive nature of the mainstream media and the obtuse and dense democratic response.

Sure, President Trump didn’t make it any easier during his bombastic appearances with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi in which he claimed that he’d be happy to shut down the government over border security.

But that was then, and this is now.  And, now, we have Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer simply refusing to even meet with the President over the debacle which as 800,000 Americans out of work.

Even if it began as Trump’s shutdown, it certainly isn’t anymore.

Now, disturbing new data shows how the democrats are exploiting these out-of-work patriots for their own gain, furthering the idea that they are allowing the shutdown to continue for the sake of their own skin.

A Democratic group aligned with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is launching a $600,000 media campaign attacking Republican senators up for reelection in 2020 over a government shutdown that entered its 28th day Saturday.

The massive media buy by Majority Forward, a nonprofit group that isn’t required to disclose its funding, appeared to confirm President Trump’s accusation that Democrats were already “looking to 2020” and using the government shutdown to score political points.

The group has produced 30-second ads attacking Republican senators who are likely to face tough challenges from Democrats, according to the Washington Post. It’s planning to spend a total of around $600,000 on the media campaign effort.

This sort of shortsighted, anti-We The People maneuver has no place in American politics, let alone in a nation with nearly a million people out of work.

It’s time for the democrats to grow up, own the fact that they are allowing the shutdown to continue, and do their jobs.

Trump, Ready to Make A Deal, Has Shutdown Compromise Offer for Dems

Will this be the compromise that brings us back to full federal strength, or will Nancy Pelosi pull another petulant and pedantic stunt in order to “resist” the President?

government shutdown

There is little doubt that the democrats have been remiss in their duties to the American public, specifically in regard to the nation’s longest government shutdown.

We’re closing in on a month of this stalemate, where nearly 800,000 federal workers are being expected to put in the hours at their jobs for no pay.  The TSA has been hit the hardest, perhaps, with their underpaid staff simply quitting or calling in sick in order to find other work.

This security staff shortage has created incredibly long lines in the nation’s airports, has forced Miami International Airport to close an entire terminal, and may have been responsible for allowing a firearm to make it onto a Delta flight.

It seems as though the President is ready to make a deal to end this nonsense, however.

President Trump plans to use remarks from the Diplomatic Reception Room on Saturday afternoon to propose a notable immigration compromise, according to sources familiar with the speech.

Details: The offer is expected to include Trump’s $5.7 billion demand for wall money in exchange for the BRIDGE Act — which would extend protections for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) — and also legislation to extend the legal status of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders, according to a source with direct knowledge.

Now the question will be whether or not the democrats are willing to negotiate with the Commander in Chief.

Earlier in the week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi drew the ire of President Trump by simply refusing to meet with him regarding a shutdown compromise – a move that angered a vast swath of the fed-up and frankly furious American populace.
