Laundrie Family Lawyer Changes Plans After Conversation with the FBI
The tragic story of missing New York woman Gabby Petito has had much of this nation entranced over the course of the last week, as a number of shocking developments have arrived in the case….and it doesn’t appear as though things are going to slow down any time soon.
It is believed that Petito’s body has been found, and authorities are likely to confirm that as soon as Tuesday, as an autopsy takes place. One week prior, however, her uncooperative fiancé, (who returned to his Florida home in her van without her and refusing to talk to authorities), went missing himself, walking into the vast and remote Carlton Reserve near his home. His parents, who’ve taken plenty of heat over their unwillingness to help find Gabby, didn’t report Brian missing until Friday, leading many to speculate as to the possibility of their allowing their son a “head start” of sorts.
After Petito’s body was presumed found, FBI raided the Laundrie home, and now, a lawyer for the Laundrie’s has made a sudden change of plans after conferring with the federal agency.
The lawyer representing the family of Brian Laundrie said he’s no longer holding a press conference Tuesday after speaking with the FBI, severaloutlets reported.
The press conference had been scheduled for 1 p.m. on Long Island, New York. The lawyer, Steven Bertolino, did not give any more details on the cancellation or his communication with the FBI.
The FBI searched Laundrie’s home in North Port, Florida, on Monday.
Authorities had called off the search at the Wildlife Reserve on Monday, but are returning to the area on Tuesday, this time with the FBI taking point over the much-maligned North Port Police force.
