Leftists Attacking Liberals Because Marijuana Not ‘Green Enough’

Leftist progressives suddenly want to end pot because it isn’t green enough. Now this is a cat fight among leftists that should warm the heart.

For 50 years, liberals have hoped beyond hope that marijuana would become plentiful and normal. But now that it has, leftist progressives want to end it because it isn’t green enough. Now this is a cat fight that should warm the heart of every conservative.

As state after state has bowed to the left to institute the legalization of pot, it has become clear that mass cultivation of the drug has become what greenies fear is an environmental nightmare. So, now progressives are souring on pot over the environmental issue.

The prof of the conflict comes from Politico which recently published a story entitled, “An inconvenient truth (about weed).”

Politico noted that greenies fear that cannabis production and its “carbon emissions have never posed a bigger threat to the climate.”

The growth of pot has made it “one of the most energy-intensive crops in the nation … as states increasingly embrace marijuana, a growing source of greenhouse gases is going essentially unnoticed by climate hawks on Capitol Hill.”

Greenies point out that pot eats up a lot of energy to produce. The special lighting can cost as much as 2,000 of electricity per square meter. This, Politico says, is 40 times what it takes to grow lettuce indoors.

Politico added:

  • researchers estimate that Massachusetts’ new blaze industry accounted for 10% of the state’s entire industrial electricity consumption last year
  • a study reported that the energy required to grow enough bud for a single joint (one gram) was equivalent to the energy used to drive a fuel-efficient car 20 miles
  • another report out of Europe found that each average indoor grow operation uses more power than 14 typical homes
  • the illegal drug market goes through fossil fuels at an even greater clip, “using standalone generators or stealing power from neighbors to fuel their operations.”

And greenies say that as pot grows in popularity, the environmental problems will just get worse.

This is setting u a battle between the pot-head left and the greenies that aims to become a major war.

And it couldn’t be funnier.

In a cruel twist of irony, the end of Rail Safety Week was marred by tragedy in Montana on Saturday, as an Amtrak passenger train careened of the tracks in Montana, perplexing investigators.

The incident caused a vast majority of the 10-car train to derail, injuring dozens and killing at least three people.

Amtrak joined federal safety officials Sunday to investigate a Montana train derailment that left at least three people dead, seven people hospitalized and rural communities scrambling to provide food and shelter to the stunned survivors.

The westbound Empire Builder train with 141 passengers and 17 crew members derailed Saturday afternoon near Joplin, a town of less than 200 people a few miles from the Canadian border in Liberty County. The tragedy occurred as Amtrak was closing out its nationwide, annual Rail Safety Week.

“The NTSB is launching a go-team to investigate Saturday’s derailment of Amtrak’s Empire Builder train,” the National Transportation Safety Board said on Twitter, adding that the team would be based in Great Falls, Montana.

Images of the carnage were soon trending on social media.

Vaccine Mandate Cold Cause Healthcare Worker Shortage in Major City

This is WILD!

Published

With the number of Americans concerned about the potential side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine remaining steady, establishments that are now dealing in vaccine mandates are in for a rude awakening.

For months now, the vaccination rate has remained steady here in the United States, despite full FDA approval for some of the inoculations, and a steady stream of pressure from the Biden administration.  The issue is that, of all the folks who want to receive a vaccine, nearly all have.  Those remaining unvaccinated are doing so by choice.

And that’s why a coming vaccine mandate could wreak havoc on the New York City healthcare worker population.

New York state officials are bracing for staffing shortages when the state’s health care worker vaccination mandate takes effect on Monday, and could be looking to the National Guard — as well as medical professionals from other states and countries — to help address them.

Gov. Kathy Hochul released a plan on Saturday, outlining the steps she could take to increase the workforce in the event that large numbers of hospital and nursing home employees do not meet the state’s deadline.

“We are still in a battle against COVID to protect our loved ones, and we need to fight with every tool at our disposal,” she said.

That could mean declaring a state of emergency to allow health care professionals licensed outside of New York, as well as recent graduates and retirees, to practice there. Other options include deploying medically trained National Guard members, partnering with the federal government to send Disaster Medical Assistance Teams to local health and medical systems and “exploring ways to expedite visa requests for medical professionals.”

And, to make matters worse, those who find themselves terminated for their choice to remain unvaccinated will not be eligible for unemployment benefits, further infuriating those who believe that waive their cache to receive an inoculation are being discriminated against.
