Lindsey Graham Wants to 'Crush' Russian Gas Biz, 'Destroy' the Ruble
With Russia having now declared war on Ukraine by sending troops onto the sovereign soil of the tiny, resource-rich nation, the world is beginning to react.
This is not unexpected. Not in the least. Vladimir Putin has choreographed every tiny bit of this invasion for weeks, and the world has warned him time and time again to reconsider. And so now begin the long-winded condemnations of the situation, beginning with Lindsey Graham.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., called to “destroy the ruble and crush the Russian oil and gas sector” in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aggression in Ukraine.

“When it comes to thugs like Putin disrupting world order and destroying democracies – enough is enough,” Graham wrote.
“Putin’s decision to declare eastern Donetsk and Luhansk as independent regions within Ukraine is both a violation of the Minsk Agreements and a declaration of war against the people of Ukraine,” the Republican from South Carolina continued.
And then:
“His decision should immediately be met with forceful sanctions to destroy the ruble and crush the Russian oil and gas sector,” Graham added.
President Joe Biden has ordered his first round of sanctions in the wake of the invasion, with plenty more criticism and fiscal throttling to come.
