Liz Cheney Preemptively Blames Republicans for Future Violence

Congresswoman Liz Cheney is on her way out of the Capitol come next year, having been soundly defeated in her primary race by a candidate that captured the backing of former President Donald Trump.

Cheney, of course, has made a name for herself as an anti-Trump politician whose vociferous anger against the MAGA superstar has seen her kicked out of her home state’s Republican Party.

Now, as the nation continues to watch President Joe Biden stoke the flames of division and anger, Cheney has had the nerve to suggest that Republicans are preemptively to blame for any future political violence.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is placing the responsibility on Republicans to rein in former President Donald Trump as he lashes out at the Department of Justice and FBI over the raid of his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Cheney, who has been a major critic of the former president, tweeted on Sunday after Trump said the DOJ and FBI have become “vicious monsters” under the control of “radical” politicians and the news media during a rally near Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the night before.

Her warning came with further criticism of the presumptive 2024 GOP nominee.

“Trump is attacking law enforcement and yet again using language he knows will provoke violence. Only one group of Americans has a chance to diminish this danger — Republicans,” Cheney said in a tweet. “If my fellow Republicans fail to step up to stop this, they will share the blame for all that follows.”

The suggestion certainly comes at a bizarre junction, given the irresponsible rhetoric that Biden has been using over the course of the last several days, as if he’s looking to goad the MAGA Movement into action.
