President Trump took a stand for Israel and the Jewish people.

He officially recongnized Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights.

Kind of a big deal.

After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was thrilled, as you’d imagine:

At a time when Iran seeks to use Syria as a platform to destroy Israel, @POTUS Trump boldly recognizes Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights.

Thank you President Trump!

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke this evening with @POTUS Donald Trump and thanked him for the decision to recognize the Golan Heights.

Prime Minister Netanyahu told US President Trump: “You made history.”

Now, Netanyahu will reward Trump by naming a town after him.

His tweet in Hebrew:

Translation: “In honor of President Trump, who recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan, will soon call for a settlement in the Golan Heights in his name

From Daily Caller:

“All Israelis were deeply moved when President Trump made his historic decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” Netanyahu said. “Therefore, after the Passover holiday, I intend to bring to the government a resolution calling for a new community on the Golan Heights named after President Donald J. Trump.”

Last year, Trump fulfilled his campaign promise to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aliv to its capital in Jerusalem. Around the same time, Trump also made the decision to pull the U.S. out of the Iran Nuclear Deal, a deal which Netanyahu had claimed was based on lies.

WATCH:

From JPost:

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced on Wednesday that Netanyahu and Trump will hold a working meeting in the White House on Monday, followed by a dinner on Tuesday evening.

[…]

The Trump decision to recognize the Golan now gives Netanyahu a significant boost before the election, but will also also trigger criticism that the US president is blatantly meddling in the Israeli elections.

Reactions:

Trump is remarkable

I applaud @realDonaldTrump for taking the long overdue step of recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. It’s an enormously important signal that we stand with our allies and against our enemies, and will be heard by both.

Agreed! Israel cannot be secure without the Golan. U.S. recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan acknowledges this strategic reality & the facts on the ground.

President Trump’s decision to recognize the Golan as part of Israel is strategically wise and overall awesome.

Well done, Mr. President!

Now I, along with Senator @tedcruz, will try to get Congress to follow your lead.

The Golan was used by Syria in 2 wars of aggression against Israel.

Additionally Syria’s Assad, Iran, & Hezbollah need to pay a price for dismembering Syria.

To return the Golan Heights to Syria would be to reward aggression and put the Jewish State at perpetual risk.

I hope and believe there is widespread bipartisan support for this proposal.

Congressional passage would reinforce President @realDonaldTrump’s decision as United States policy.

Marco Rubio Gets Confronted By MSNBC Host Over Saying Some Journalists ‘Giddy’ Over COVID-19

Published

Sen. Marco Rubio has found himself in the hot seat with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle after making the comment that some journalists are thrilled over the spread of the coronavirus, a statement he defended. Ruhle asked Rubio to explain the tweet which he made earlier in the week, noting a portion where he said: “Some in our media can’t contain their glee & delight in reporting that the U.S. has more #CoronaVirus cases than #China…Beyond being grotesque, it’s bad journalism.” https://twitter.com/marcorubio/status/1244279416819273729 Here’s more from Washington Examiner: “I need to ask you this, because I’m a journalist,” Ruhle said. “We’re not just some personalities. You called out journalism. And I need to understand why on earth you did this.” Rubio said some journalists are “doing exactly what I said.” “Well, because there are some journalists that were doing exactly what I said,” the Florida Republican responded. “I read reports about how some Republicans are doing this, or some members of Congress are doing that. I don’t know what other word to describe who’s doing something and who isn’t.” Rubio gave a few examples of certain situations where he believes that journalists expressed happiness in reporting on coronavirus figures and noted that he said “some” not all journalists were behaving this way. https://twitter.com/TPMLiveWire/status/1246081048846401536 Rubio found support among many on the right, including Caleb Hull who tweeted: https://twitter.com/CalebJHull/status/1244311946817671173 The bottom line is, there are probably some journalists who are excited by the prospects that this virus is providing for the progressive movement. After all, Democrats are using this situation to try and pass a bunch of pet projects they want made law through inside these coronavirus relief packages, so is it so far fetched to think liberal journalists might think the same way? Regardless, here’s to hoping this all goes away sooner rather…
