MAGA Rallies Returning in May as Trump Looks to Move Forward
Thanks in no small part to his own work on Operation Warp Speed, it appears as though Donald Trump will soon be back out on the road and talking with his supporters.
There was great deliberation about exactly what capacity Donald Trump would be continue to be active in American politics after a tumultuous first term that ended with a very heart bang. The former President has repeatedly hinted at the possibility of running for the office yet again in 2024, telling Sean Hannity not long ago that he was “beyond seriously” considering it.
Now, with the vaccine rollout helping to quickly curb the coronavirus pandemic, it appears as though Trump will be ready to hit the road again in no time.
CNN reported that Trump is considering the resumption of his rallies and that he may hold events to support candidates challenging Republicans who have criticized him, such as Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), one of seven GOP senators who voted to convict the former president in his second impeachment trial for inciting a mob to attack the Capitol on Jan. 6.
Trump continued to hold MAGA rallies in 2020 even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The rallies came to a halt after his loss to now-President Biden in November’s election.
“It will definitely be different in terms of the setup, but we got really good at planning these events in 2020, so we will probably use a lot of those same vendors again,” a Trump aide told CNN.
The rallies will restore some of the public sway that Trump lost when he was arbitrarily banned from most major social media platforms near the end of his first term.
